Posted this in the other round 2/3 thread: This feels crazy to say because we were the fourth worst team in the league last year but after free agency and the first round I really don’t see any glaring holes. Obviously Dean would be fantastic at linebacker but it’s not like we have to panic if we don’t get him. We are truly in a position where we can just start stacking talent and letting the chips fall where they may come training camp.

Don't get me wrong, I like Brisker as a player, but wouldn't Pitre be a better fit with more versatility? Can someone with more knowledge fill me in? I only know what I saw during this past season, been too busy to dig into players this offseason. At 38, I'm all in on Dean, Pitre or Hall. I don't know why (maybe because he's 28), but the very first time I saw Hall, he reminded me of Curtis Martin.
T. Jones Raimann Dean Brisker One should be there. My guess is if Raimann is cleared medically he is their top choice. Dean is the best player left. Jones fills the biggest position of need. I would put Watson on the list but it is a deep receiver class. If none are there drafting and redshirting Ojabo for a year should be a consideration. Or trading back and targeting Kenneth Walker.
Come on seriously. QB is weak, LB is weak Safety is weak Interior DL and Offensive tackle are big question marks and that's if the acquisitions at TE, Edge, & WR are hits
"QB is weak" is just foolish and won't be taken seriously when we're talking about year 2 of the current QB and the second round of a terrible QB draft. LB is weak, which is why I said Dean is ideal but we aren't fucked if we don't take him. The trenches are going to be greatly improved between Lawson, Johnson JF getting kicked inside and Q not getting doubled. Safety is far from weak, it's just not strong. Also why I said I'd go Dean or Brisker. And if we're going to play the "well who knows how they'll all play out" game then what's the point in ever assuming you've added starters or depth?
I said glaring holes. Like there was at EDGE before last night. Like there was at G, CB, TE and S before free agency and the draft.
I personally get what he was saying. Yeah, we may not be elite at those positions but just because we could upgrade there doesn't necessarily make it a hole. I agree with what you're saying too though, could still upgrade at LB & S but I would throw QB in the question mark category with OT. I think we're solid at IDL, still might need a true 1T but that doesn't make it a hole or a question mark but that's just my opinion.
I found this somewhere, not my own projection... but the thought could be that Wesco was #3 TE to end the season. With the TE additions, he’d move back to FB as he offers more versatility...
2nd rd pick... S- Brisker. Which then, trade Ashtyn Davis for whatever best you can get for him either this draft(say a 5th) or a 4th for next year. Then roll with Whitehead/Brisker as your starters and Joyner/Pinnock as backups
How would everyone feel about tonight ending up like this? Personally, I would be fine with it. Pitre would be another really good addition to the secondary and Walker would give us some good depth at OT. I would prefer Brisker at 38 to Pitre as I think he compliments Whitehead more but he may be gone by 38 so we'll see.
According to Walter Football (which I have plenty of trepidation about citing as a legitimate source), Breece Hall is a Jets target at 38
Depending on how the first 5 picks go tonight, I could get on board with Breece. Feel like he and MC would be a solid 1-2 punch in the backfield.
I hate to say it but Garrett Wilson is not enough. The TEs we signed are good, but nothing crazy. Michael Cartyer is the same way, good. But, getting an elite RB to compliment Moore and Garrett Wilson is how you surround Zach given Hall is available.
Be very careful wishing for DEAN - he has a more then normal history of injuries - I'm not sure he will hold up to the rigors of the NFL
The more I think about it the more I think one of our next two picks HAS to be an OT. McBride would be great and I think he's definitely the best TE prospect this draft but he'd feel like a luxury pick given how big a question mark I still consider Becton. An OT pick will act as further motivation for Becton and give us a plan B if he gets hurt again or can't keep his weight down.
