Oct was the month the beat the team with the #1 seed in the AFC, the Titans as well as the AFC champs, the Bengals. You really couldn’t have picked a worse month to randomly target…. Oct is so random. The Jets were 0-4 and outscored 65-142 Rex’s last year. I think yours is a much better example if a team not trying for their coach.

Then they respond and rally around a backup QB, he sends that QB back to the bench. And we wonder why they don’t play hard

There should be no reason with even below average personnel to give up 450+ points a season. The Jets have done that back to back years now.

The most likely cause of the overall problem is that the Jets defenders do not believe they are collectively capable of playing even average defense and are quitting early in the season as a result. It doesn't matter what the coaching and talent levels are if only a few players are 100% committed to the effort.

That C.J. Mosley could be on the field and this is happening is eye-opening because Mosley never quits.

This. As bad as our defense was last season, I can tolerate it as long as we get a clear answer on what Zach Wilson is. That's not to say next year is necessarily make-or-break for Zach but if he struggles as much as he did last season with a much improved cast (on paper), then maybe we need to reassess next offseason.

Based off of FA, I would think JD will keep the balanced approach (if he can) during the draft. However, based on some comments he made yesterday, I think he's gonna go BPA at 4 & 10, which may result in those 4 premium picks being slight skewed to one side of the ball.

We've already upgraded at EDGE (getting Lawson back), CB (DJ Reed), and S (Jordan Whitehead), not to mention this will be the 2nd season in the same system which should help the returning players, so in theory the defense should be improved. I still think we add an EDGE early and maybe another secondary piece which would elevate the defense even more.

Ideally, we walk away from our first 4 picks with; EDGE, WR, CB/S, and OT in some order. That gives us additions at premium positions that can greatly improve both sides of the ball.

glad you mentioned Mosley. At the Buffalo game he was busting his ass out there and he may have been the only one on the defense doing so.

I was right behind the sideline, I saw lots of shaking heads and eye rolls from defensive linemen on the sideline who Saleh was "resting" to keep fresh in the final game of the season.

i also saw wide receivers showing their frustration with the QB

    Just a question my friend

How can Zach develop into FQB when the Swiss cheese defense has us down 10-20 points by the second half game after game???

As I posted before, being behind that many points might force Zach to be pressured , play hero ball, and force passes all over the place

So making him a good QB has a lot to do with points ,Defense ,game situation and it won't matter what WR we have on the roster or who we Draft imo if Wilson tries to be Aron Rogers every 4th quarter

Agree 100 per cent. I keep hearing WR at 10--WHY? If we waste either #1 pick on a WR, we will regret it. The jets LB group absolutely stinks, and will likely lose Mosely after this year. Safety A. Davis could not tackle my 88 year old mother in law. I still wonder why they signed Franklin-Myers to huge extension but still can't decide if he is DE or DT. Defensive needs everywhere and plenty of WRs available after round 1.

We haven't taken a WR in round 1 in 20 years. It's no wonder we've had the worst passing offense and receivers of any team in the NFL over that timeframe. I agree we need serious help on defense too but we have neglected sinking serious resources into WR for way too long.

What are you even talking about?

We made four huge moves at receiver in the last three seasons.

2022 Resigned Berrios for $7 mil per year
2021 Big Free agent signing with Corey Davis
    2021 High second round pick
    2020 Second round pick

I am not a fan of JD and he has put the teams potential on an over-drafted QB , plus multiple picks in the weakest draft class I have seen in 30 yrs, I hope I am wrong, but if am not wrong JD will have made us the worst team in the ZNFL Expect for the Jags,or the Browns

None of those are WRs we took in the first round, like I said.

One of those second round picks you cited is good and one is probably going to be off the team soon. Davis is a 650 yards per year guy, Berrios is a 500 yards per year guy. It's not a good enough unit.

What LB, S, EDGE did you want to draft over Mims? Which one over Moore?

Elijah Moore is basically a first rounder.

You consider resigning Berrios a "huge move?" The dude is a good backup, but your idea of a "huge move" receiver acquisition is significantly different than what I would like to see this offseason.

Mosley is the only talented player Jets have on defense. He had his best year last year, the reason Jets were so bad is a combination of lack of talent and poor scheme, the results don’t lie, the fact that Saleh is happy with the current LBs has me concerned.

JD better draft KT or JJ to help that defense, otherwise we will be seeing the same thing with Saleh scheme.

The reality is that Wilson is the key to all of this working out, if he can progress and start helping the offense sustain drives it will keep defense rested and not have them gassed by second half of the game.

A tired, non talented defense running a poor scheme is doomed to be in last place again.

I am reading all these posts and they all make sense...the Jets suck at Offense with no legit WR and we have a shit Defense!

In other words holes everywhere lol..Wasn't Mims supposed to be our WR threat ??? So someone taken higher might be really better I hope

I would prefer 2 defensive players at 4 and 10 but my hunch is it's Edge and WR ...so be it

Then maybe JD uses picks and later rounds to move up and continue to get better players for both sides of the ball

I am pretty positive about our chances come April 28
