Don't take me wrong, I think we will see Zach be better this year either way. But the reality is that he had shit to throw to last year. No one can develop like this. And while I like what JD did by finally improving TE position, it's not enough. Adding Deebo to the room will absolutely help Zach's development. If Moore can stay healthy all season, it will help too. If we finally get good play from TEs. If Davis holds on to some balls. If OLine protects better.

It may be a matter of semantics, but if Zach has the talent he was touted for, a lot of things above, including in large degree adding a top notch receiver, will help Zach unleash it. And that means we will know if we have a great QB this year, we will win more games, players would want to come to the Jets next off season. You can call it develop or unleash, but benefits to adding weapons, like Deebo, for Zach, at this stage are vast.

The best move is to trade for Toney on the Giants, him with Moore makes defenses stay up at night. He will come cheap and is on a rookie deal. He is much less risk than Deebo and should see a similar reward

I can't imagine Toney being a good fit. I love his skillset but the Jets system demands a lot mentally from WRs. Toney could not learn the Giants playbook.

Not to mention, how often have the Jets and Giants completed trades with each other?

I believe they have only made one trade together. Leonard Williams.

    yah right

as soon as someone says “it’s not about the money” you can bet your house that it is ALWAYS about the money.

Cleveland was out until they gave Watson more money

hill got the money from Miami

    it’s ALWAYS about the money

    That's my recollection as well.

I'm sure glad Douglas is our GM and not anyone on this board (including myself)!

This would be a trainwreck. Usually when a team is trying to ditch their first round pick from less than a year ago, you don’t want to pencil that guy in as the solution to your problems.

Where do you see this? The only thing that’s happened is he didn’t show up to camp to get the playbook this year. This is the only thing I see from 2021 on the playbook with him.

Please tell me this is so. Same values as the 2 2nds and 69. If we are picking a WR at 10 to me this is a no brainer. Not worried about the $ at all, cap is a myth. Why pick a WR that none of us can agree on over a proven stud...

Anyone complaining if we draft KT at 4, Deebo trade with the 10th and use 35 and 69 to trade up for Linderbaum?!? That way we still have 2 1st rounders PLUS Deebo and still have a high second!! Would be huge upgrades and I personally would be incredibly happy with the haul but sure lots will disagree..

I don’t think the plan is to pick a WR at ten. The plan is to pick a WR with the second round. Might be dead wrong.

Good point but whatever position we were considering addressing at 10 we couldn't trade back up into the first or pick in the 2nd to get? Deebo is a YAC machine and fits the offense perfectly. I've been following 49er message boards since he demanded a trade and in the beginning it was the concensus they would want 4, 10 and a player. They view Deebo as the catalyst of the entire offense, he would immediately make Zach better and the entire O. Apparently a locker room motivator and just the character coveted by the FO. Can we have that for the pick we got from Seattle for JA, yes please.

I doubt this. JD wouldn’t even trade the 10th pick for Hill ( the superior WR). He’s not trading the 10th for Deebo

No? He was offering the exact same thing for Hill if you go by the points scale, we could essentially trade back into the 10th with the picks that were offered for Hill theoretically. Not to mention the age difference which to me completely offsets the "superior WR"

Issue is 10 is the same point value as what Douglas offered for Hill so this is wrong. Bigger Issue is Deebo is better.
