    Lafluer was like a magician on the ice. Alongside Jacques Lemaire and Steve Shutt he was one of the few North American players that could play even up against the Russians and Czechs in the free-wheeling style that wider ice allowed.

    I remember his one year with the Rangers. He was at the end of his career but he still managed 45 points in 67 games. RIP.

    This has been a very bad week for Quebecois superstar right wings. I saw him play many times in person at the Nassau Coliseum for the Habs, with his blond hair flowing behind him as he skated up the ice. It was a pleasure watching him play for the great Canadiens teams of the 1970s.
