I think we move back to 8 or 9 because JDs guy goes in the top 3 and someone gives us a kings ransom for a QB I have a gut feeling the like Walker (not my choice) but that’s my feeling. I think they go: #8/9 - Sauce/Walker/ Davis/Hamilton #10 - Burks/Wilson/Williams
There's no such thing as a can't miss prospect. Let some other GM fall in love with a guy and overpay us for our pick.
The one thing about Johnson is that he's pretty old for a prospect. He's 23 now and he'll be 29 after the 5th year of his rookie deal, which means he'll want big money right as his play begins to decline.
Flip side view: he has a lot of experience already and could step in and contribute more quickly, delivering dividends early in his career at a lower salary.
Thibodeaux was the consensus #1 overall pick for more than a year. Then the season ended and everyone just decided he has question marks and maybe he should drop out of the Top 10. Not me. He may fail in the NFL, but in my mind, he has less question marks than everyone else and is the safest bet.
He might be there for you, as a few draft experts are now changing aim. Rumors are that KT might not even be the second edge to go, thus a strong likelihood to be there when the Jets pick. For what is worth Walker and JJ are getting a lot of attention. Apparently the lack of competition against top OL in a weak conference is a concern. I’m not sold on JJ simply because of age, but don’t know enough to select either way. To me trading down is still a great option.
The Jets haven't made a secret of their desire to get an edge rusher with their first pick. Which one it will be is not know yet. The next pick is a wide receiver unless they trade for one. A big tackle to back up Becton and a corner should be next.
For me trade down #4 pick to, still get Tayvon Walker and grab Sauce at 10 and then grab a WR, OL, LB with their next 3 picks.
I''d prefer Sauce/Lloyd, as opposed to 2 interior players, tho I wouldn't mind this at all. Lloyd gonna beast, and Hamilton real intriguing. Too many posters thinking need based, rather than talent based. Top 10 picks all about finding home run talents.
I'd go Thibs at 4, WR at 10. I "think" that's what JD will do, but I say that with very little certainty.
I love Sauce's game but he is missing some things that would make him worth the 4 to me. Like his absurdly bad tackling. Those two could very well end up being the best players available at those two picks no matter what the draft stock roller coaster tea leaves say this week. A rare case where need complements best available.
This is a big deal. Marcus Maye level fit for a team that may only be contending in the back years of his rookie deal. Leaving out the possibility that the Jets will not contend at all during his rookie deal because that's the Goofy and Mickey scenario where the Jets could take anybody on the #4 and it wouldn't matter.
