What I love about what Mangini and Tannebaum are doing is that there are so many Jet draft rumours that no one knows what they are thinking. The Jets are drafting Cutler, no they are trading up and drafting Leinart, no they are taking Mario Williams, no they are trading up and taking Bush, they are trading down, etc.... It has down a few things: 1. Raised the value of the #4 pick if we do decide to trade either way 2. Protected our actual target so we are more likely to get him In the past, Bradway was always so open to what we wanted that we wound up not getting good value. One thing is for certain, it will be an interesting and exciting draft.
Agreed. You can tell Tan-gini are smarter than Herm/Bradway already... Props to them for fixing the cap mess Herm/Bradway left us with too.
And I love the fact that the Chiefs are now in a more dire cap position than the Jets, without the Jets having to have cut to the bone.
Trade Rumors? What makes you guys think that "Tangini" is the reason why these rumors are swirling? These rumors are just rumors, sports writers and sports followers speculation of what might happen.This has absolutely nothing to do with our management. We all like to guess which direction the team may go. There is still a lot of time between now and draft day and anything can happen so although they probably have a good idea who they want to draft that could still change.
They don't like to tell the media anything. Media was even calling Mangini a boring interview at the combine because he wouldn't give any hints as to who we were looking at... It's a strategy in my opinion.
The reason I believe it is them is simply because in the past there were never this many rumours about the Jets draft, and the rumours that were out there were very much what we we planning in the draft as for example DeWayne and why we had to give up so much for him. So far the Jets new FO seems to be very much on the ball. We now have great cap space without destroying the team. By the way, the only rumour not out there is Vernon Davis. Maybe that is the direction we are going.

In the run up to the draft people will guess, hope, anticipate etc.The real people who make the decisions do not come out and say who they are looking at or who they are not, who they like and who they don't .You just do not do Business like that.The rest of the league is not stupid, all this smoke and mirrors talk is overrated.We all guess where certain players will be drafted, but we are not sure. Trades could throw everything haywire, so to give our management credit for these rumors is a bit far fetched.Go to other teams boards you will see the same kind of speculation going on.I Guess their GM'S are just as smart as ours.
YUP. The less we know the better. What would this site be if we knew what was really going on. This has been the best off season in a long time for the JET faithful. Please, Dear Eric, do not dissapoint.
I think it's Tangini. I think it's them mainly because in when Bradway drafted Santana Moss, everyone and their mother knew Bradway wanted him. With Tangini, no one knows who they're focused on. Seriously, it could be AJ Hawk for all we know.
I agree they have done a hell of a job. Their cleanin up this mess good. If all goes well we could maybe get a wild card spot next year. If not that than I will be happy with and 8-8 9-7 season with no playoffs because it will be a big sign of improvement and a sign of good things to come in the future.
Yeah there is alot of time from now till FA, but the most important signings happen in the first week and a half.
