Been saying since before the end of the regular season the Jets needed to completely rework the TE room; looks like Joe Douglas and the coaching staff agree.

Two quality vet signings. I don't see them adding Trey McBride at 35 or 38, but I can see one added in round 3 or 4.

Isaiah Likely could be a draft pick in 4-5th rd.

Solid signing. No more Wesco or Ryan Griffin and that's OK.

Idk if Likely makes it that far but Jelani Woods from UVA will certainly be there that late and I feel like he’d be a great fit with what we have now.

Griffin has to be cut ASAP now. Spend that 3M elsewhere.

Honest question: are Uzomah and Conklin the two best TEs we’ve had in the last decade?

We saw the jets trying to run two tight end sets at the start of the season which didn't work for obvious reasons.

This doesn't take us away from drafting, just means we can draft a TE rather than HAVE too.

Nice, not official but sounds like it’s gonna happen.

Love the signing, but definitely more money than I would have thought. It tells me they plan to feature 2 TEs frequently

Great, great move. Talk about immediate help to Wilson with a no shit 2 TE set. I can’t say enough about the great work JD, in full unison with the CS are doing in this free agency and I know it will continue in the draft. The long term plan started last year, when all the coaches briefed JD and staff as to the type of players and qualities they covet in their system. This year the plan is in full force. Solid starters across the board, not flashy big spenders, but immediate contributors.
Too, too bad we pissed away year 1 by retaining Gase and attempted to give him a chance to his system with some players instead of tearing the shit shown down to the studs then. My two cents.

no way he lasts past the 3rd. wouldn't suprise me if he went in the 2nd.
personally i'd rather have dulcich. should be there in the 3rd and he's my TE2 behind mcbride

with that said, not a bad TE2. an upgrade over RG and kroft. I expect to see RG cut and likely wesco too

The Pats used to run some three tight end plays that were really effective.

Having two (or more) tight ends on the field at the same time opens up a lot of options and confounds certain defensive formations.

Love to hear @MaximusD163 and @GasedAndConfused expound on this...

This has been the theme of FA so far and is also why I think it’s been such a huge success.

We basically just need an EDGE, WR, S, and IDL to have a complete roster. Still isn’t a SB caliber-roster but having minimal holes is a huge step from where we were a few years ago.

pats only pulled it off because they had gronk and hernandez and lacked in the WR group. the idea is to run out of 12 sets but have the fear of a pass still while having better blockers then running a WR in place of a TE. I would expect us to run it a little but not much. our base offense will be 3 WR 1 TE which as of now is davis and moore outside, berrios in the slot and uzomah at TE but I expect us to add a WR in the draft
