Rumor was that Gilmore was choosing between us and the Niners. This would imply the Niners move on. Ending up with Gilmore would suck.
31. Hasn’t been good in two years. Probably costs at least 14-15 mil. Not a scheme fit. Other than that though…
Nania says other DTs to consider are: Tim Settle (was signed), BJ Hill (re-signed by Bengals), Harrison Phillips (Bills), Justin Jones (Chargers), & Sebastian Joseph-Day (Rams). I hate we lost out on DJ Jones, but he got the same amount Fatukasi did.
Maybe that's why the Jets added to the coaching staff: Emmett Lathrop "Doc" Brown, Ph.D., Director of Future Statistics
Thought he’d be a Jet. He’s the exact type of bargain bin WR Douglas would go after. Oh well, take London or Wilson at 10 now.
We weren’t spending $15 mil a year on a pass rusher when we’re already paying Lawson and most likely will have a shot at one of the best pass rushers in the country at 4 or 10.
Serious question. Who was the last FA WR that ended up being a great signing? I’m drawing a blank. Can think of several via trades
Eric Decker. Had 1K yards here when used correctly. Braxton Berrios has been great considering what he was signed to do. But the Jets historically have not given a shit about the WR position so it’s not shocking.
Cimini says we are out on Gilmore which would be nice but Hughes and others are adamant we are in it. I do think he ends up being a Raider. Schrags… who is friends with Woody… says more is coming today.
Nothing new here. Still hopeful that this 17-19M range is smoke from his agent. I think JD will stand firm with his number (I'm guessing it's in the 16M range) and see what happens. Part of me wants us to land Williams, but part of me wants to take that 16-17M and add Jordan Whitehead and DJ Reed.
It’s really hard to justify that kind of money on a safety but he could be a defensive anchor for the next 5–7 years. He’s elite and about to enter his prime. Still though… I think I’d rather take those resources and split them in between honey badger and another spot
