The more hostile the government becomes toward energy companies (adding regulations, cost, and taxes) the more the price of gas will rise initially.

Long term though I would agree with the rest because higher prices will push people toward electric vehicles or alternatives. But short term, if regulation was added to gas companies today, the prices would go up higher soon after, not down.

The American people are far too selfish and addicted to shit from China for the government to sanction China.

What are you arguing against? Government spending or Fed printing? Those are two different things.

We'll sanction China as soon as we believe they are supporting the Russian war effort with anything other than platitudes.

I don't think we'll sanction them as a political move over platitudes no matter how obnoxious those become. I do think that if they get involved in supporting Russia in material ways the sanctions will come.

Fed printing and taxation are the two ways for the government to raise money.

So far in the last two generations we've printed money instead of taxing at appropriate levels to support our spending.

Best bet is that whoever is in charge in 2030 will see taxation as much the lesser of the two evils of supporting the required spending at that point. That'll be the 50 year inflection point from when Reagan began our enormous deficit spending paradigm, which in turn was 46 years after Roosevelt began our big government taxation plan.

Government in general in regards to spending and printing.

The way this whole system is setup, is to pass the problem on to the next guy and pray it doesn't collapse under your term. It will collapse though, and its looking more and more likely it will be under Joe Biden so he will end up being the fall guy. If Trump had won, it likely would have collapsed under him too, said that in 2020. He dodged a bullet and will probably be viewed as the savior, even though he was part of the problem.

    What "disinformation"?
Who said anything about "bio/chem weapons"?

Maybe calling Ukraine a client state was a bit provocative... but our influence on their governance is well documented.
And it's the same clowns that got us embroiled in Afghanistan... you'd think we'd learn...

The U.S. was & is funding bio-chemical labs in many countries... including Ukraine. They are claimed to be purely defensive in their research & operation... and there is no evidence to the contrary.

Do the Ukraine laboratories store dangerous biological agents?
Yes, it appears so. As part of their work researching diseases the bio labs do seem to hold dangerous pathogens. We know that because WHO is urging Ukraine to destroy any highly dangerous agents in its laboratories to avoid the risk of a disastrous outbreak should one of the labs be hit under Russian attack.

“As part of this work, WHO has strongly recommended to the ministry of
health in Ukraine and other responsible bodies to destroy high-threat
pathogens to prevent any potential spills,” the UN health agency said.

The WHO has worked in Ukraine for several years helping the bio labs improve their safety and security, so it knows what it is talking about.

Its really weird that people on here want to act like the United States have been angels the whole time and have done absolutely nothing wrong.

They all want to turn a blind eye and act like its anti-American to even bring anything up that goes against the narrative. The ONLY thing that is anti-American IS turning a blind eye to what the United States government has actually done.

Its "We the people" at the end of the day, the government should be called out for its anti-American policy.

    Imagine actually using Snopes?

    LMAO

I hope you aren't trying to say the Biolabs dont exist. The link to the propaganda site just says that its not the reason Russia went Ukraine. How would they even know if thats true or not? They wouldn't.

Just stop using Snopes, its laughable to cite it for anything.

House liberals to urge Biden to declare climate emergency, ban drilling on federal lands
The request from the Congressional Progressive Caucus comes as many Democratic clean energy priorities have stalled in Congress.

I don’t subscribe so I couldn’t read any more, but how tone deaf can these people be? The progressives are getting progressively dumber.

I think its a parallel to what's happening on the right. There are politicians on both sides who are pandering to the extremes of their parties at the cost of credibility. The Progressive Wing of the DP wants all these things but have no way to pay for them other than raise taxes which is a non-starter. In a situation like this, when fuel prices are skyrocketing, they want to limit supply to address climate change but not realizing by doing this, they're simply accelerating the cost rise of things their constituents use daily.
Kinda like sending jets and AA batteries to the UK not thinking those supply depots in Poland and other border nations now become targets for Russian missiles which will precipitate WW III as the US will be honor bound to defend nations that should never have been in NATO to begin with but instead, part of a EU defense pact.

Again, I still think the Ukrainians should turn this War into a insurgency and simply bleed Russia everyday like in Afghanistan. Every puppet Putin installs should be assassinated and their bodies displayed from lamposts just to send a message about collaborating with the enemy. Time always favors the insurgents.

anyway... back to the topic at hand....

Crude is now back to the pre-invasion price levels..... yet fuel prices have not really dropped. How long does the gouging continue?
Americans need to make a conscious effort to use as little as possible whether the price hurts you or not
