I know some jet fans will always be hegative but

    1) he fixed the worst spot on our o-line with one of the top free agent OGs on a reasonable 13mil a year deal

    2) he added TE uzomah on the same contract the seahawks gave will dissly and uzomah is way better

    3) he brought back berrios for 6mil a year the same day christian kirk got more then 4 times that

    4) he's still going after more free agents with some names being gilmore, williams, and who knows who else

    5) he brought back coleman as a RB 2 on a likely cheap deal

he hasn't broke the bank for a single player really but he's low key having a great start to free agency. not to mention in this upcoming draft we have an extra 1st (10OA) thanks to the adams trade and an extra 2nd (38th OA) for dumping darnold

I’m glad we fixed the guard spot but I’m not sure how making Tomlinson the 6th highest paid guard in the NFL at age 30 (next year) after his sole Pro Bowl trip is “reasonable.”

It’s an expensive fix but likely a necessary one.

Fully agree. I am loving this day so far. All your points above are accurate.

Yep. Price is high but we are the Jets JV. I am glad we didn't overpay that much if any per the standard. :)

I like the signings, but they need to lead to wins on the field.

FAs will always be more expensive but like you said, it was a necessary one after whiffing on GVR 2 years ago. The Jets don't have anyone to pay right now and a 3 year deal at 13M won't crush the cap -- The deal likely has an out after two years as well.

I wouldn't say reasonable, but it isn't a gross overpay and Tomlinson is always on the field.

I think we should be an improvement. we should get to 6-7 wins I think we are 1 more offseason away form a playoff team and zach needs to take the year 3 jump in 2023 and then we'll be rolling.

Its been a solid day but we have paid. It was money that got both Tomilson and Uzomah. But those were the two biggest needs on offense, and I'm glad we didn't go cheap or with a project.

Bottom line is that the Jets got better at 2 of their worst positions and didn't grossly overpay to get it done.

Also a big fan of how JD handled Day 1.

Maybe a slight overpay for Tomlinson but that’s how FA works.

A few things about Tomlinson... first off every year the free agents are going to make more than the ones the year before. If Tomlinson was a free agent last year he'd have made less than this year. That's just the nature of free agency. Second, the Pro Bowl is a popularity contest. What fan knows their shit about IOL? Certainly not a majority of them. So yes you'd like to be able to say you have a pro bowl player but at the end of the day that holds no weight unless we are talking about contract escalators.

We absolutely didn't pay over market price for Uzomah. See: Dissly, Engram. It's right on par with what his market value was set at by Spotrac, almost to a T.

I like the Tomilson move. IMO it was no brainer.

I didn't say we overpaid for Uzomah. But we certainly outbid Cinn for him. They were intent on bringing him back and must have only offered him an extra million, or a shorter deal. IMO he is worth 8 million and I like the signing a lot.

It looks like JD has a plan. I mean a real plan. A good plan. Not like the Jaguars, who just hand blank checks out to average players. :D

    Look guys.

Right Guard was a huuuuge problem thanks to fucking GVR and we signed one of the top available guys who is known to play nasty and is familiar to our coaches.

We re-signed Zach's favorite WR Berrios and added a huge target in Uzomah as TE. This is day 1 and Joe delivered. Zach should be happy.

This definitely makes me feel like we are going heavy on defense In the draft this year.. FA Isn't over yet, still, seems that's the direction things are falling for us.

It's not the money its about FINALLY allowing a QB develop before he's ruined by protecting him and surrounding him with talent. Love the TE move and bringing back Berrios.. not really thrilled about Coleman but it's probably a cheap deal.

I agree JD has made some good moves. LT and CJ along with resigning BB is a trifecta

I’m not even really knocking the signing. But let’s not call it “reasonable,” and be realistic about the fact that we just paid a premium to plug the hole.

Uzomah is very good value and a good locker room presence on top of it.
