Would you trade for Saquan Barkley

FYI dallas is going to release him per the rumors so he'll be a FA we can go after with a more reasonable contract and without giving up a pick

 

I suspect we will be one of many but its worth the phone call

 

I would trade a 4th for Saquan and 6th/7th. He would be good risk, if healthy, could be top 1/2 ouch in the league at RB. Sign him long term If successful.

Usually with a player like Cooper, word gets out he will be released after they shopped him and no one offered a high pick. Once the news about the upcoming release gets out there, someone will call and get something done for a low pick so he never hits free agency. I doubt Cooper will be a free agent, but the trade package will be minimal.

 

Take Saquon for a 4th. Too much upside.

 

usually yes, but the issue is coopers contract. his salary is 20 mil a year and 2022 becomes fully guaranteed in 12 days. most teams won't want to take that on so unless it's a trade/restructure which is hard to pull off and dallas has 12 days to get it done it's likely they just release him and save the 16 mil in cap room

 

What an absolute disaster of a draft pick that is turning out to be. Second overall pick.

 

All time dumb move by their GM because even if Saquon had worked out it still would've been a bad move because RB's just aren't that impactful. You can get someone who produces 80% as much as Saquon for 20% of the cost.

 

McCaffrey is a RB. Even oft-injured, he still is a big plus to an offense. Not all RBs are equal.

But yes, taking one that high in today's game seems to be overdrafting at least.

 

Sign and trade?... yes. 1 year rental?... why? For our super bowl run? Lol..

BTW, McCaffrey is rumored to be part of a big trade with multiple picks. Looks like Carolina is going full blown rebuild after the Darnold bust.

 

Barkley looked like a shell of his former self last season. His explosion is gone. He got outplayed by the backup. He may turn it around with another team but he’ll never the guy from his rookie season again.

 

Yeah, I want no part of "financing" their rebuild. Let's continue to do ours right for a change.

Do you understand how bad the Giants OL was last year? Saquan could be steal for later round pick (the one we got for Herndon). These RBs in draft are not guaranteed to be good, look at Perine. He will not even be on the team next year. Healthy Saquan with Carter would be great tandum behind a revised OL. Could dominate, allowing Wilson to develop. Great running game always helps young QB. And Saquan is Jets fan!

They shoulda gone QB. The best QB on most people’s board was there after Cleveland took Baker

 

Would have saved us from Darnold but knowing the Jets they would have taken Rosen who is even worse.

 

WTF is trading multiple picks for an injury prone RB with a huge contract? It’s Seattle isn’t it?
