For whole year due to betting on games last year. Anyone still think he’s a trade target?

Didn’t want him to begin with, so glad! He will probably get released.

He's not the only one and this could get ugly if the NFL wants to start policing that. They should take a look at the referees

Really. Don't you think a player would use a friend or relative as a "beard" to place bets for him? How many other players do you figure are doing the same thing, except they're smart enough to use a beard?

However, it's also pretty ironic/hypocritical. The NFL is in bed with gambling interests, and games are saturated with hard-sell ads encouraging people to bet on games. Yeah, I know players are in a different boat than the general public, but it still strikes me as ironic/hypocritical when the NFL goes after a player for doing exactly with the League and its sponsors are encouraging everyone else to do.

I doubt it. I think the Falcons release him. He's a dumbass. He lost $11 million in salary by betting on NFL and Falcon games. He's a mental case. I don't know who would want him.

Anyone want to get a betting pool together on where he ends up next year?

I’m more and more convinced that not a lot of emphasis will be placed on free agency for a top WR if any, much more so on a TE instead. Emphasis will shift to WRs and TEs on the draft within the early rounds.

Ridley bet $1500 and lost 11.1 million dollars in salary. Is that not the very definition of mental illness?

They probably wrote him off before this anyways. I wonder if the trade rumors were leaked by Atlanta ti try and get something for him before this broke. A bad way to do business though.

This is exactly why I didn't want this guy to begin with for anything but possibly a late round pick. People are saying "if mental issues check out, let's give 2nd rounder". How exactly do we know if they check out? That they won't come back? I doubt any doctor would be able to assure of that. The guy played like shit for a few games last year, then just left. Not that JD considered him to begin with, but at least now Ridley mania can stop completely.
