    The word is he’s available, and a 3rd Round Pick could get it done. He’ll cost $13.5 million in 2022 and then his contract voids in 2023, so either they need to extend him or it’s only a 1 year rental.

    Definitely not if they can't extend him. A 3rd round pick is worth more than a one year CB rental, especially on this team. The other thing is he's going to be 29 in August. So I'm not really sure it makes sense even if they can agree to an extension. Just my 2 cents.

    I will pass too Max. He is old to give him a long term contract imo.

    They are going to cut him. I can’t see anyone taking that salary unless they give basically nothing for him

    No way I’d give up anything more than a day 3 pick for an expensive rental. And I wouldn’t want him tying up money in 2023 either because he’s not anything more than average.

    He’ll be cut and then we can pick him up on cheap without giving any assets up

    No, for the following reasons:

    1) because I'm against trading picks for players that will have big contracts;
    2) because he's only average;
    3) because of his age;
    4) because we can possibly sign someone better, younger, and for a cheaper contract in FA, or we could possibly draft one in the 3rd or 4th round who turns out to be better, and;
    5) because we're not at point of burning draft picks for one-year rentals, and I'm against extending a 30 year-old player who is just average.

    Bradberry’s a stud and likely extremely underrated by the media because he’s been on a bad team for most of his career. I’m not sure that he’s the right player for this team, but he’s a very good corner.

    Any time you flip on a Giants game he’s batting passes down left and right.

    Stud seems egregious. Maybe overlooked? Either way I wouldn’t trade anything more than a day 3 pick

    Its actually crazy how eerily similar Hall and Bradberry were last year. I’d argue Hall had a better year.

    Bradberry:
    SOLO TACKLES - 43 (T-56th)
    INTERCEPTIONS - 4 (T-6th)
    TARGETS - 92 (12th)
    RECEPTIONS ALLOWED - 60 (T-6th)
    PASSES DEFENSED - 17 (6th)

    Hall:
    SOLO TACKLES - 68 (5th)
    INTERCEPTIONS - 0
    TARGETS - 93 (T-8th)
    RECEPTIONS ALLOWED - 55 (T-14th)
    PASSES DEFENSED - 16 (T-7th)

    Obviously you want your CBs to catch the ball but we have a guy that already gives us Bradberry production who is younger, cheaper, won’t cost us anything and will only get better.

    Call him what you want. He’s a good player. I don’t think we should give up assets for him but the feeling around here when it’s draft pick for player is that most scoff at it and degrade the talent of the player in question.

    Not saying anyone in particular did that this time, but I was just throwing out there that he’s rock solid.

    I think the Jets should be looking at bringing in high quality talent at DE, DT, CB, and WR at the premium positions and S, G, and TE at non premium positions. G, S, and TE are all positions you can find in free agency or later in the draft.

    High quality DE, DT, CB, are generally only available early in the draft or in trades. WR is available throughout the draft, but the chances of significant early contributions lessen if you are looking outside the top 10. Although the Jets have 4 early picks, the chances of the players they prefer at all 4 positions is a little low, so I would be interested in trading for a player like Bradberry for a mid round pick leaving a bit more flexibility with the 4 early picks.

    Ideally they could get a deal done for the higher 4th plus a 2023 late round pick, and they’d be able to keep their 3rd.

    On the contrary, I could not be more in favor of trading picks for proven players. Depends on the pick, depends on the player, but more often than not I’m for it. In this case it just doesn’t make much sense considering the player. We already have Bradberry for less money and for hopefully the next decade. I’d prefer to use the 10th pick on Gardner (if he makes it) and slightly more inclined to take Stingley as opposed to trading a pick for a guy that won’t do much.

    He had a true breakout year in 2020, was one of the best corners in the league. I feel like last year he was back to being his solid but not elite self. Either way I’d probably trade a 4th if we can get him signed to a 2-3 year reasonable extension

    He's good but he's also right at the age where CB's start falling off quickly. He'll be 29 next year.

    [IMG]

    Bit of a dicey proposition having to extend a CB his age.
