Trump's ass-kissing is what led to this. He withheld military assistance to Ukraine unless they provided information that would help him get re-elected. That act made the US look small and petty and put Ukraine at great risk. BTW, we're unlikely to agree on this and we probably shouldn't really be talking about it. If politics does not stop at the edge of the water then the USA is not great anymore and no amount of MAGA-bullshit will reverse that trend.

It’s important because America has turned into a weaker country with the current President in place and there’s a reason this is happening right now. How many countries deeper into Eastern Europe will Russia get before we’re forced to enter World War III? Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania is next. The west gets involved when they broach Poland.
