You are correct, I should more correctly have stated "far too many;" sufficient for him to be rated the worst quarterback in the league.

But you didn't. Surprising for a guy like you.

Didn’t Mawae break bones in his snapping hand and just tape that fucker up and snap with his left? Pretty badass

Throw Joe Fields into the mix and we were spoiled at the position often. Rare for us.

Hard as it may be for you to see, I'm still human and prone to such foibles.

From almost the start. John Schmitt 11 years, Joe Fields 13 years, Jim Sweeney, 11 years, Kevin Mawae 8 years, Nick Mangold 11 years. Makes Mawae look like the weak link in the chain.

Sure if you skip the part about him being the best one.

A lot of people don’t realize Fields was drafted in the fourteenth round lol…. And what a find. Anchored the OL for 13 years and made more than one pro bowl….

Mangold definitely. He's the only guy I've seen push vince wilfork backwards one on one. At certain points in some games he would be running over Wilfork. It was incredible.

This is further proof we should draft Linderbaum this year. It's basically the one position we can get right In the draft.

Yep. ^Old yearbook photo that I posted back in the day. The funny part is that Mawae started to wield that taped hand as a weapon to club opposing players. They were complaining, alright, hahaha. Mawae: "Who me?" Thanks for bringing it up all these years later. I love Mangold, he's one of my favorite Jets, but edge to Mawae, which is how I voted. This is the one position the Jets have been spoiled and lucky with in the past, no question.

EDIT: sp/autocorrected to may why. Goddamn it all.

I think the Jets do something right by accident sometimes.

Mawae wears a golden hall of fame jacket. He was clearly better. No slight on Mangold who belongs in the 'hall of very good'

Mawae also got into a fight with Bryan Thomas in training camp once and I'm absolutely certain he kicked his ass.

Really tough call. Both were amazing. Mawae is in the HOF. Nick won't get in but he should. He was a true leader and held his own against some of the great interior DL. We've been very fortunate at that position for a long time.

give me Mangold, he was much stronger at the point of attack. Mawae would get destroyed against teams with big d-tackles, like the Bills (remember a game they ran over him for 7 sacks), while Mangold never did. Mawae was obviously the better linemen on the run, but he was not nearly as strong up front.
