I probably saw more 'zona games than you--maybe not. But yes, he had no decent WR's after week 10 and he stunk it up. So what?
Well if the trade was straight up, I'd definitely do it. After that it really depends on what we would be giving up. Can't really say without knowing that.
Why is it so hard for the anti-Zaxters here to understand that without elite weapons, even great QBs struggle? Look at the SB last night when OBJ went down (not that I'm a fan of his, but his talent is undeniable), even an experienced, winning, QB like Stafford saw his game slip. To his credit, and the credit of his years of experience he rallied and won the game, but still with HUGE help from Cupp. Did Wilson have anyone remotely close them in ability to throw to? And as Bickety pointed out, Murray went from All-World to All-Arizona when he lost Hopkins. To answer the question, No I wouldn't trade Wilson and picks for Murray.
Good QBs can and will struggle on bad teams. The 2021 Rams are example of what will happen when a good QB is put in a good situation.
Hard to find good weapons and blockers when you first trade away three second round picks to move up for the QB that will solve all of your problems and then trade him away a couple years later for a second rounder and use the second overall pick to draft the QB that will solve all of your problems. There are many lessons that can be learned from the harsh consequences of poor decision making. Calling out people for not supporting Zack at this point of his career is a lot like spiking the football on your own 20 yard line and jumping into the stands like you did something right. Lets just see how this plays out.
Stafford isn't a good example because we saw him play on a bad team for many years, and he played way better than Zach did. Zach gets a rookie mulligan, but he'd better improve a lot this offseason.
I just want to let you know that I disagree with you but I'm not going to rate every player on their team. I saw the games. It's my observation that guys were not getting open.
Not throwing ints (Zack and Rogers were tied with 5 straight games with 0 ints, good company to be in) is one stat that gives me hope.
In two responses you managed to use the arguments of "I've probably watched more Cardinals games than you" and "I'm not going to get into specifics of why I think certain players are bad" Really convincing case you're making here.
Haha--I thought it was self evident and maybe we'd argue about the additional picks. I guess I need someone like @GasedAndConfused to come to my rescue with film.
I've seen a quite a bit of murray from games but haven't studied any film on him and really don't have interest in him personally so i'm not going to be any help here. maybe @MaximusD163 has. he watches more film from other teams then I do
