In the back of his mind JD has to be thinking about our own upcoming 2nd contracts....Quinnen, Becton, and Zack in 1,2 and 3 years. Plus extending others who may have worked out like Corey Davis. Next yr is the put up or shut up for Quinnen, then Becton the yr after Q, then Zack after that, and so one. Plus is we strike gold on a few players in this draft, they'll come due right after Zack.

JD's gonna be in a period of making hard decisions pretty soon.....

Surely those 2nd contracts will be cheaper than now, right?

Don't forget that we extended JFM and gave him a hefty raise. That's taking up a chunk of the cap now.

I don't expect him to be aggressive at all. JD has always been a build through the draft guy.

Agreed, but I do see two splashes this offseason. Last year he did the same thing with the splashes being Lawson and Corey Davis. Expect something similar this year as well. I don't think he will go on the type of spending spree Patriots went last year, but something similar to last year where we get two splashes, bunch of midrange/value signings, strong draft is absolutely to be expected. And of done right, I feel that will be good enough to take this team to the next level this year, where we are competing to make play-offs late in the season.

Getting NJoku at 6.9 is a bargain for a solid Tight End (always been a fan the way he helped Browns)

Berrios and NJoku will be our U of Miami posse :)
