To recap: you said to spend a top 10 pick on a C. I said we have a serviceable center. You didn’t like the Metric I used to claim McGovern serviceable. You then list off “difference maker” Centers and how important they are to this scheme I point out our serviceable center is familiar with this scheme. You get upset that I provide counter points to your points. You tout a lower rates center who’s given up more: hits, pressures, and hurries (same amount of sacks) as an example of why the metric I used isn’t good enough bc but provide not alternate source. I will continue to call out stupid or not well thought out comments, whether you pivot, defend you comment, or ignore me is completely up to you. “You can do worse but I’d prefer to do much better” - is a statement I can get behind
I’ve been on this board 11 years and I don’t think I’ve ever honestly considered blocking someone. I go back and forth all the time with @Jonathan_Vilma @NCJetsfan @Br4d and others, and probably @GasedAndConfused more than anyone and hell I even started a weekly podcast with him. If you think I have a problem with anyone just because they debate with me, you have the wrong person. If you can’t tell the difference between someone disliking that you disagree with them and someone disliking that you’re condescending, maybe check on that. You’re probably going to keep doing what you do regardless of what I say, so I’m probably going to block you.
Don’t worry. There’s a reason this dickhead made a dumb bet that he’d leave if he lost. Of course he’s back and talking down to everyone he interacts with once again. It’s actually a fun read if you don’t remember it. https://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/a-post-about-a-post.86847/page-5
Not everyone. Just people who make bad comments and are unable to back them up. You’re my favorite target as you say lots of stupid stuff. Maximus D value the C much more than I do. The only thing Max said that was infuriating was when he had a problem with my measuring stick but wouldn’t provide another… oh wait, that was you. Lol shoulda known.
Pepperidge Farms remembers the last time you tried to elevate yourself at the expense of other posters on the board. Do you remember though? It didn’t work out so well for you.
Elevate myself? Didn’t work out for me? I’m not sure how one elevates themselves on a message board and I’m definitely not sure how it could or couldn’t work out. I’m glad you’re having fun going through my old posts, I wish going through your old posts was more fun
I don't see any improvements at the WR spot. The Jets need a go to guy for Zach. Davis wasn't it. You draft doesn't address it either. No way a Utah LB will be out top pick when we need major OL help and wide receivers. With Berks and London coming out the Jets need to get someone like that. I don't think Ty Johnson, Perrine are coming back so that will need to be a priority.
I was hoping he would but then he had an injury and was out for a while. But he looked much better upon his return. Hopefully, he can be a player for the Jets. But I think they need a bigger receiver that can go up and get that sideline pass or go across the middle. I hope they take Burks from Arkansas. He's big 225 lbs and fast.
Burks is really high on my list of hopes… If there is any chance the Jets can get Jensen in free agency I’d be more at peace with a receiver over Linderbaum
Great work, as always, @MaximusD163! Adding, Hunter, Williams, Hayward, Lloyd, etc. would instantly elevate this D to a very solid unit. I struggle to see them jumping to the top 10 range, regardless of what we do this offseason, but this would be about as good as we could expect for a quick turnaround on D. The only issue I see would be WR depth. I know we've added Higgins and re-signed Berrios in this scenario but I hope we do a little more on that front. Adding McBride and Ruckert might alleviate some of those concerns but rookie TE's typically take a little while to adjust so I'm not sure if I love the idea of needing to lean on those guys as rookies. Just 7 more weeks until FA kicks off!
I'm not going to bash Hunter as a player, but I'm trading a 2 and a 4 AND giving a new contract, I'd want a player with less health concerns than Hunter. Admittedly older and on a shorter deal, but I'm intrigued by the idea of Za'Darius Smith and think he'd be significantly cheaper due contract and the Packers' cap situation.
I mean I don't agree with linderbaum either but he gave you a reasonable explanation to why so I don't see the need to keep going. just agree to disagree and move on
