I'm curious if there are injury numbers published that goes per stadium. There's just tons of major legs injuries at MetLife. NFL demanding the turf get redone would not surprise me
They played well relative to what they've been doing. Until the end, they managed to keep them out of the endzone on most of their trips to the redzone. You're right, the yardage and the number of first downs are pretty bad, but I think they come off looking better than usual today because 1) they outperformed their usual sorry performances from this season and 2) they looked even better when stacked up againt our offense today, which might have been the worst showing by any side of a football I've seen in years, maybe decades.
You have to wonder how much of it was mental too. I think the Jets really didn't think they could compete in this game so anything they got would be upside. That they kept the score close for as long as they did with the offense they had was admirable. Bend but don't break defenses usually break eventually.
Meh Allen and the passing game was off. Btw, the WR’s at the end were Tariq Black, Mims and Jeff Smith…cringe. And Wilson clearly doesn’t trust Mims.
I doubt they'd do favorably if they were compared with a lot of NCAA teams. I guess we can take solace in the fact that we're not the Giants.
This team is SO far away from being competitive. Especially at the ineffective boring pace JD seems to be going at. He’s the GM equivalent of punting on 4th and 1 in opponents territory. Play it safe, do nothing controversial, and milk a job for as long as possible with no result.
Nine f@ck*ng sacks and you don't want to hear the offense was bad? The final score and the stats tell the story.
And so ends my brief flirtation with the sunnyside. Back to my Darksider roots.. For 3qtrs they played their hearts out on Defense only to watch the offense get pummeled. They didn't look this bad against the SB Champs only a week ago. Was it the talent gap? Of course there was a talent gap. Was it a piss poor game plan? Absolutely. Was it the CS's finest hour? Not in the least.. Better show something in '22. They're not the most talented team in the league, but they certainly could use better coaching, conditioning and talent evaluation especially in FA.
After the botched punt, I was thinking we had a shot if it was converted into a TD. Well, it wasn't, and the rest is history.
I was a sunny sider for decades until the JD/Gase era. Perpetually optimistic and that we would always somehow turn a corner. However thiis era has broken me in a way I don’t think I can recover from. Officially apathetic.
Even the Giants with their 3 string qb had more than 53 yds . Josh Allen is an average qb. I was not impressed by him today. I think the Bills lose next week
Even worse, outside of the 40 yard TD pass, which was basically a hitch with a missed tackle that led to a foot chase, the offense gained an additional 12 yard. 12. That's a first down and a QB sneak.
I haven't seen the term darksider since the Hackett and Herm days. Back then, I was apoplectically dark. This is the best I've felt about our foundation in a decade. I feel great going into the offseason. Catch you in April!
