I'm done worrying about our draft position. What matters is getting the right players with the picks.
Not to mention they would of had to run a play before the 2 minute warning and would of saved the timeout. They could of gotten the ball back for 1 min 10 seconds. Awful clock management there.
They had three 6th round picks, not 5ths. The Jets traded their 6th round pick along with Chris Herndon for the Vikings 4th round pick. They obtained a 6th round pick from SF in exchange for the Jets' 7th round pick and Jordan Willis. The 6th round pick they got from the Bucs in exchange for Steve McLendon and our 2023 7th round pick was traded to the Eagles for Joe Flacco. One thing seems pretty clear. JD doesn't value 7th and 6th round picks except as trade bait, but that might just be the circumstances rather than a permanent opinion.
To think if the Jets had just lost to the Jags we would have the #1 pick lol, needless to say I was very frustrated when we won that game... here's to hoping we still draft well and get some great players!
Post Early Slate Update: Jets Pick: With the Texans losing, the Jets pick cannot jump up to the 3rd overall pick and are locked into 4th or 5th. If the Jets lose, we will pick 4th. If the Jets win, we will pick 5th as we have now cliched at least a tie with the Panthers in terms of SOS and because the Panthers beat us this year, we will pick before them. (This is based off of the article Nania wrote earlier this week where he said we needed 4 of 6 outcomes to secure the SOS advantage and 4 have already occurred in KC over DEN, DAL over PHI, CLE over CIN, and MIN over CHI). Seattle Pick: With Cleveland and Minnesota winning, the Seattle pick will be no lower than 11th now instead of 13th as it was this morning. If Seattle loses, the pick will either be 7th or 8th depending on how the SOS tiebreaker between SEA and CHI plays out. Currently separated by .001 on SOS, total toss-up. If Seattle wins, that pick will be 10th or 11th, depending on what happens in the ATL/NO game. ATL wins, 10th. ATL loses, 11th.
4pm Slate "Rooting Guide": Again, remember this is only for draft picks. I'm rooting for the Jets to win vs Buffalo, FYI, as I don't see a huge difference between 4th and 5th. Bills over Jets: Jets pick 4th instead of 5th. Cardinals over Seahawks: By far the most important game for our draft picks IMO. If Seattle loses, that pick will be 7th or 8th. If Seattle wins, their pick will drop to either 10th or 11th. Falcons over Saints: Ensures the Seattle pick would be 10th instead of 11th in the event Seattle wins. Also, helps Seattle's SOS tiebreaker vs Chicago. Bucs over Panthers: Helps Seattle's SOS vs Chicago and might help improve our 2nd rounder from them.
Just seems that way. Close game. Don't think they can win the division, why risk starters getting hurt?
