So now your argument is limited solely to the first round? Where we found a top tier IOL and potentially the franchise QB we’ve been waiting for?

It was my point the whole time. Nothing changed.

A QB who cost us the most valuable pick in our history, and a guard that cost a 1st and two 3rds. But to some, thats an amazing first round accomplishment. Life of a Jet fan.

And if he’s a franchise QB who cares? And if AVT is on his left side for a decade who cares? You and……..

Okay, I don't just want to build a team that is 9-8.
I don't just want to build a team that makes a WC appearance.

I want to build a champion. To build an actual top team you have to do it right. Not like an impulsive amateur who rushes to accomplish steps out of order.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but it is my true evaluation (opinion) of JDs team building.

But you are the only one pretending it’s impossible to build a contender because we traded two thirds for a top tier OL. That’s not reality. So you can think he’s doing it wrong but essentially saying this years draft doesn’t matter, which features 5 picks on the first two days and two in the top ten… to HAVE to expect that you’re gonna catch some shit for that right?

I know my opinion on JD isn't popular around here. We could have had a better roster this season and a much richer draft this draft if we were patient.

I truly hope we land some studs in the next draft.

I don't think the bold is happening. In fact, I think the exact opposite is happening. Posters are discrediting him and quick to criticize him because of all the other bad moves that previous GMs have made. It's like if he's the Jets' GM he can't be any good. I never think of Mac, Idzik or Tanny when I evaluate JD's moves. I look at him objectively, not through the biased, subjective lens/filter of my disdain for Tanny, Idzik and Mac.

His team building is not assbackwards. YOU are the one who has everything assbackwards. You are delusional thinking you know more about being a GM and team building than JD. SMH

Based on what, Wilsons rookie season is nothing like Burrows or Herberts or even Tuas, Tucker is good not great. Moore is good but he is hurt and so many wide outs are good coming out of college right now. Plus his size is a problem. Carter is a good running back but is injury pron,. great number 2. Last draft a total miss

He’s a bit overrated on this board. He’s been solid but he still has a ways to go to be at the level he’s perceived here.

Still, the trade up looks pretty good at this point because it appears as though we’ve gotten a good football player.

TGG feels a bigger need to dump on solid picks than actual busts for whatever reason.

Not that I think the Jets would do this…but AVT has played tackle in college.

He’s shown he may very well be a stud at LG but curious if Becton situations turns to a way he gets moved, if they would even consider such a move. Just thinking out loud.

Face it, the kid is as dumb as a rock and should be as far away from football as soon as possible. He may have had a moment or two but he’s straight trash and everyone knows it.

What you're citing here is a subjective comparison based on a formula to convert draft slots to dollars devised by those guys; on the other hand is the claim by Walter Football that a chart they have published illustrates point values assigned to each slot for purposes of trading they claim is used by actual NFL teams.

NFL Draft Trade Value Chart: WalterFootball.com

Using the Walter Football chart the Jets traded away total value to Minnesota of 1120 points for picks 23, 66 and 86 and received 1134.5 points in return for picks 14 and 143. This chart shows a point value difference of 400 between picks 14 and 23 which your source (questionably) says are similar. It's interesting to note that in addition to AVT, the Jets, after trading the 143 pick to the Raiders and then trading with the Chiefs ended up with three more players, still on the team, who have all seen game time - Echols, Pinnock and Marshall.
