I hear you. I'm just beyond tired of hearing how Wilson sucks despite clear proof of the opposite - as today's game shows.
You take the points and make it a 7-point game. We've seen what our secondary is capable of, which is very little. What Brady ultimately ended up doing was no surprise. He does it in virtually every 2-minute situation we've ever seen against us.
If Zach had thrown an int, there would be 5 threads calling for his head. Plays well, not a thread started about how good hes looked. He needs a legit reciever to go with Moore.
Yeah, it's not like he hasn't been breaking us as Jets fans for 2 decades now. Was there anyone out there who thought it would end differently? Dumb call on 4th and 2 (but right option), bad coverage on the 3rd and 20. Two great open field tackles by Winfield but perhaps most disappointing was the conservative play calling offensively on two successive drives. I get why coaches do it and they back their guys to win their matchup but it was just too predictable. But that's all part of the learning and the team is definitely getting better, which offers a hint of better things next season.
Saleh just said It was supposed to be a reverse to Berrios all the way. There Is an option In the play-call for Wilson to run a QB sneak If the look Is good for a half yard or yard situation but that the play was supposed to be a reverse all the way. Coaching staff communication was botched. That play never should've been though. Unfortunate.
woke up super late (on-call BS fucks my sleep cycle major) figured it's be 30something to 10... see a text from a m8 saying Jets are playinhg well so AB went nuts and left... saw score and was like... THEY WENT toe to toe and have a shot... i see they areon the 7... a good shot...
Hero ball. Man, I miss Hero Boy on 9th Avenue. When you're young you hear about all the great places that closed before you knew about them. For you younger guys Hero Boy was one of those. Freaking amazing heros of all sizes and compositions.
That would be something wouldn't it? I mean if Zach freelanced that call... he should be held accountable in some way. Either way... it was the dumbest play call I've seen in a quite a while in the NFL
I think the "conservative" play calling was them trying to eat the clock, which I agree with. But that 4th and 2 play call was terrible. Even though saleh said it was a QB option, they shouldn't have given him the option, it should've been a call for their best short yardage play. I mean a QB always has the "option", but I think they just created more confusion by doing it that way.
FWIW, I don’t think that the reverse would have worked either. Taking the points was the correct call. That’s on Saleh. Wilson played well today. Hope to see more of this next week.
Personally I kick it there. BUT … first I line up after the TO and see if I can get them to jump. If so … game over. If not … THEN I kick to go up 27-20. Coaching 101. But If you want to go for it there … fine. Then trust your goddamn QB to win the game … OR at the bare minimum you give it to a back off tackle. QB SNEAK for 2 full yards???? The stupidity is just off the charts.
so how to do you guys who watched grade the team performance today? scale of 1-10? am guessing 8ish, with a pt taken off for the letdown. 7?
The way Saleh described it there is no option for the QB to sneak with 2+ yards to go. The play is a reverse with an option for a QB sneak in a half yard to a yard distance range if the hole is there. What that suggests is that when the play was sent in Zach didn't have all the context and saw the option to put the game in his hands and took it. Based on what we saw earlier this season that sounds about right.
