Good coach in a bad situation here If not the jags I’d expect to land somewhere as a head coach again soon. I don’t think he gets it though. I think Byron leftwich is getting the jags job.
I’m more worried about who he’s bringing on the offensive side if I’m shad kahn. At least I would be right after I shaved that ridiculous mustache.
Bowles is too nice to be a head coach and he does not have the CEO skills to run things with a caddy GM getting him talent. I like him but he's going to have to land on a great team to have any chance of being a great HC.
Jax wants to interview him for HC spot.Anyone think he'll be any good his 2nd time around? I see him successful his 1st year, especially with a bad team....but.. Watch, hell be the next Pete Carroll.
If Bowles gets a job, and a lot of the talking heads think he will, it would extend the streak of fired Jets coaches to get other jobs. Herm, Mangini, Rex, Bowles.. the streak likely ends with Gase but who knows, hes still young haha
To me the biggest red flag with Bowles comes down to personnel decisions. Typically the HC has a big say in who GMs draft and sign in free agency. McCagnan takes the hit here, but I’d reckon that Bowles rubber stamped a lot of those decisions (both in the draft and free agency). It didn’t help that offensively he never really had a vision as he changed OCs every season (although reports indicate the front office had a lot of say). I think Bowles is a good enough coach, but he’s not the kind of guy you want leading a rebuild. Jacksonville needs a coach who knows exactly what he’s looking for from a personnel standpoint and can work hand in hand with the GM to get it done.
