I agree, I was just being a smart ass. I feel like all the teams are taking a lesser important position coach to take over the team when their coach is out. No need to force one of the coordinators to manage the game and call plays.

It’s just funny that it happens to be the tight end coach given our decade long ineptitude at the position.

Flacco and LDT head to the list. Flacco, who cares. LDT... that's brutal. So no LT1, no LG1, no RG1 for Zach on top of having no WR1 or 2 with 3 potentially missing the game because of an injury. What could possibly go wrong?!

This is reminiscent of the lockout and the owners went ahead with the season anyway. Who cares about the quality of the product as long as they can make money off it. The American business creed.

The Jets really need to tank this game to get the #1 seed next year, I can't think of a better way to guarantee it.

With 20 players out for Covid plus injuries I don't see the point of playing this game. The Jets should forfeit for not having enough available players. Fans should not pay to see replacement level players.

Why stop at this game. Should have forfeited the season on this basis.

The problem with that solution is that things will be worse after the holidays, not better. I'm fairly sure that reality is weighing heavily on the NFL (and other sports league's) decision-making right now.

The place I work is leaving visitation fairly unrestricted before Christmas but we'll be in a wicked lockdown by New Years.

You make a position coach the fill so that your coordinators can continue to do their jobs. Less overall impact on preparation that way.

If you make a coordinator the HC you have no idea if he will be able to do either job effectively.

All of that said, the Jets coordinators haven't been particularly effective just doing their own jobs this year.

If the NFL took Covid seriously they'd be playing all games at this point in empty stadiums and they'd be testing all players not living in a bubble on a daily basis.

Right now the NFL is just waving at Covid and hoping it goes away, which is something that many fans are doing as well.

On offense the staters we have left are McGovern and Zach.On defense the only starting DL that might play is Q. All starting lbers and safeties are out. MC2 out. Hall might not play for an undisclosed injury. We might only be left with Echols as our only starting defensive player. At best we will have 3 starting defensive players and 5 total.

We have played most of this year missing anywhere from 6 to 13 starters but this week is beyond ridiculous. At some point it is simply not worth playing.

It don't think it matters that much when it comes to the Jets. They have been putting out a pretty consistent product for the past 10+ years, regardless of injuries, illnesses, etc.

If the JETS werent already so bad, I'm sure the NFL wouldve postponed this game a few days..... but ole Rog is probably saying "does it really make a difference anyway? No one's going to or watching this Turd Bowl anyway..."

It reminds me of when Covid happened and our HR recruiters started using it to justify their slow responses. I was like "you're always this slow."

Zach had a bad season because all his players were out with Covid.

The surge that's happening now is from Thanksgiving.
There will be another in 2 weeks, then another a week after that.

I'm totally convinced families are trying to kill off their senior loved ones at this point.

Resident after resident wheeled in maskless last night after family festivities, most of them enjoying more wine in the process than they did all the rest of the year.

One person came in accompanied by 5 visitors and when I asked them the usual questions they all said they were chilled because the windows were open at church. I don't think any of them were sober enough to drive either.

Nothing like having a 94 year old call me "sonny" in a loud voice while she fended off all attempts to be masked. The family joined in to help (me) when I pointed out that they weren't getting by the checkpoint with her unmasked.
