nope. original post was hoping for the light to at least PEAK out from the tunnel. And I cant have that foollishness
2 AFCCG vs 1. Hey, it's my opinion. Don't lose sleep over it. Agree to disagree. Let me know when Woddy gives the ol' "horse's ass" speech at Thanksgiving.
I yelled at the TV up until last year, the dogs no longer think I'm scolding them. My wife used to watch with me for pure amusement, now she doesn't even bother. I miss yelling at my TV!
Bro I feel the same. Prior to the last decade I always watched and finished or attended games win or lose. These past 10 years honestly make me sick. I tune in and get turned off by the quality of play. I watch other teams and always say why can't the God damn jets play normal interesting/ exciting football like these guys! In the end I still bleed green but would love to have a little excitement in our regular season games not just the off-season and then boom 1st two-three weeks we are already talking about tanking or the off-season. Don't mind me I'm like one of those long time listener 1st time caller guy here on the forums
I used to HATE when we lost....it would ruin my whole week. But after nearly 40 years of non-stop beat downs, my approach to the games/season has shifted. Not on purpose, it's just kind of happened. I now approach games with zero anticipation of winning the game. I'm far more nonchalant than years past. Yes, I still watch every game and HOPE we play well, and I still celebrate like mad when/if we DO pull one out. But I no longer feel empty inside when we get killed. I guess I'm better off just watching the games and waiting until we have this team figured out and start winning, like back in 2010. But to answer the original question, the era just before Parcells came in was the worse. We still have Rex and the 09/10 AFCCGs to look back on.
Next to no talent? How about Michael Carter, Elijah Moore, Vera Tucker, Bryce Hall? You make it sound like we have no talent whatsoever? Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
we have a few players with potential who MAY one day turn into quality starters but at the moment none of that is certain and we have been here many times before - notice that every player you refer to is a rookie (other than Hall who started 7 games last season) - how many pro-bowlers are there on the team? how many star players are there? who on this team would be guaranteed to start on a loaded team like the Patriots? We have the 32nd rated defense, our QB is ranked 32nd, our highest rated RB is ranked 41st in terms of yards and 34th in terms of avg yards per carry, our offense overall is ranked 30th - so I do think it is safe to say we have very little talent on the team
Patience. Everyone is so new in this organization. I am willing to give them 4 years to get the program straighted out. You can't keep on changing coaching staffs and HC's everytime you don't like what you see. That is a recipe for disaster. Hopefully ownership sticks with this group and build a solid foundation. I'm surprised you don't remember that. It was like a corporate recruiting firm - basically a super-high end billionaire douchebag headhunter.
I am not calling for a change of coaching staff, in my view coaching accounts for only a relatively small percentage of a teams success relative to the strength of players out on the field - and as I said that Jets are almost entirely devoid of talent (especially at the key positions) and so no coaches in the world would turn this team into serious contenders - the worry is that unless you catch lightning in a bottle in terms of the QB it is hard to see how it can ever get turned around given there is so little to build on and we keep making horrible decisions in free agency. As for patience, its been decades of this crap.
