The JETS are a typical yes man organization Owners...then the rest. AS above, so Below. -Ironically that is from the emerald tablet....go figure.
It's kind of like you hire a contractor to build you a house, and you come back after they lay the foundation and the fucking thing is all full of cracks. Are you really going to let the guy build a house on that?
The Jets are experienced team flippers. They slap one together and grab them a young marketable QB and flip it to the fans every few years.
Then I'll have to ask like others if you actually watched the game. He was that bad and only on par with the 4 int game.
All Zach Wilson had to do this year to be not the problem was to be accurate on the simple short passes that every NFL QB is asked to make. His teammates have *nothing* to do with that. They're not dropping simple well-made passes. They're dropping poorly thrown passes, without touch, in the wrong place and often thrown too hard to be easily catchable. Anybody who looks at Zach Wilson's body of work this year has to come to the conclusion that he is just not very good at throwing the ball less than a country mile and there are no NFL QB's that survive with that skill set.
This is *exactly* the situation. The Jets are great at marketing the hot new thing until it either burns down the house or cools off enough to be not good enough. Then they rinse and repeat. The smartest thing they could do right now is figure out who in the marketing department is actually necessary to get lists maintained and tickets mailed out and fire everybody else. Hype and bad teams is a toxic mixture and the Jets are an overhyped very bad team right now and have been for years.
It's crazy that because he didn't throw 4Ints he's making improvements. Not saying it's wrong, actually says just how bad someone is that this is ow far you have to bend something for it to make sense. You know why he didn't throw 4 ints? Because his throws were so far off to even be intercepted. Wide open in the flat and you hit the turf w/ a 4 yard dart, stright into the turf...just some fudged up stuff goin on there.
Hate to say it but everyone was enamored with Zach for the deep bombs but all we want is for him to be Mac Jones
I don’t feel like this is a flip though. This isn’t the typical new staff ,splash spend , eek out a mediocre record with the rug pull coming once our optimism starts peaking.
I think you're wrong. I think Zach Wilson is going to burn down the house if the Jets try to keep the project going. I don't know if you were a fan during the Richard Todd years but what happened from 1977 to 1979 would absolutely deep-six the Jets if it happened now. This isn't a 3 tabloid town any more. With all the electronic and social media it is more like a 100k tabloid town and the heat from all of that is going to put extraordinary pressure on the Johnsons to correct their course. Just imagine this team going 5-12 next year with the Zach Wilson project as a major part of the problem. Banners, billboards and a ton of social media all directed at trying to get the Johnsons to sell the team.
Time to bite the bullet for me. I was wrong. I have been more than fair and supportive in my assessment of Wilson and when in doubt given him every benefit of the doubt. It is also fair to accept that the supporting cast around him is eroding to a subpar NFL level as each game goes by. BUT, BUT, BUT, that is no excuse, so is Wilson basic performance. His pocket presence is improving but everything else, especially his passing is bad. He is simply not hitting open receivers. His throwing technique and accuracy in the short to medium range is getting worst and worst . Ball after ball in the dirt, or behind the receiver. What is most disturbing to me is that from week to week I can not see any improvement to give us some level of confidence, albeit small, in fact is the opposite. I now jump in the band wagon of those that wanted him to sit behind a vet until he got the fundamentals down pat, but instead the CS overvalued his level of readiness and or capability. This year is a failed experiment at best. It is time for JD to evaluate alternatives for next year. He can no longer be considered “ the guy” come hell or high water. Not enough there to remotely solidify that.
I can’t imagine why. I thought they liked trying to contort their bodies to catch 100 mph passes from 5 yards away that are a yard behind them at ankle level. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I saw that with Cole for sure. He kept going , Zach threw like he was supposed to sit on the route. Hard to tell who was right
