We drafted 4 starters in 2020 also, and in 2019, and in 2017, 2016, - in fact we draft 4 starters nearly every year. Will they still be starters in another year or so is the big question, and how many of them will be top players?

Let me rephrase. 4 starters in 2021 draft that can actually play NFL-level football and contribute to the team.

You are right though, the Jets have been forcing rookies into starting roles for the last 10 years.

This was a statement made by the team, Salah, and Douglas. White will play a "significant" role for the future.

One bad game, from a young backup, doesn't excuse the chance to develop the young backup moving forward.

Playing Joe Flacco does absolutely nothing for this team, CS, or fans. It's just stupidity. Makes zero sense.

White's stats are still better than Wilson. Yet, White was only afforded one bad game.

Resigning an aging Flacco as the backup Is absolutely absurd at this point and it looks even worse when that option was already on the table In the off-season. They chose not to do so, they chose not to have a vet In the QB room. Then, on top of it all, JD TRADES for a guy we could've had here to begin with.

There is no excuse or reason for it. None of what you said makes any of that reasonable. IMO.

He's thrown one less interception in half the amount of games and doesn't look like he could complete a deep pass if his life depended on it.

White has looked better and has better stats, with less time played. He's also more than doubled the TD's thrown, In half the amount of games.

This also, Isn't the main point I was making. Neither look good at this point, so, what's It matter In the end? White should have been given another opportunity. After ONE bad game.

5 is twice more than 4? Uh, ok. Carry on.

Good. Glad that was cleared up. Super important.

I was wrong when looking at his stats the first time. I missed the OTHER game where he actually had a passing TD In a game. My fault.

Read much, or did you twist it to suit your agenda. I clearly bolded and highlighted the section of the article quoting Saleh "it does mean that the Jets aren’t going to put him on the field until he’s fully confident that he can play without putting his knee in further jeopardy." Does making it bigger help, or are you still going to lie?

And a lot of that is that the whole offense is more comfortable, confident and playing better than they were in the first 6 games. I guarantee you that if White had started the season as the starter, his stats wouldn't be as good as they are, and he would have only started a couple of games before he was benched. Your anti-Wilson bias is showing!

It's not just about having one bad game. The Jets know about White's lack of accuracy beyond 15 yards. White would stand no chance against the Miami defense that takes away the short passes and has all kinds of creative blitzes. For that matter, every NFL team would stack the box to stop the run and short passes, and make White have to beat them with long throws, and he cannot do that. He'd either get hurt and knocked from the game or throw 4 interceptions or have a fumble or two via strip sacks in the first half.

Fans are bitching about the losing and getting blown out. The've been bitching about going with so many young players and struggling. So the Jets decide to stop the bleeding and give the fans some hope for a game. Flacco gives the Jets the best chance to win this game because he has a lot more experience seeing these blitzes and can complete long throws. Posters and fans say that Zach should sit because the rest of the offense needs a chance to develop, well Flacco gives the rest of the offense a better chance to develop than White. If Zach has learned his lesson about taking what the D is giving, then he gives the team the best chance of winning and helping the offense develop along with him. Zach's not confident in his knee yet. He will probably return to starting next week.

i have a feeling wilson is heading for a shut down for the season.....

the news that is leaking out from the jets is funky.

we'll see. me thinks white should still start and not flacco.

Redshirt is only 1 year - this is the 4th year White has been out of College. Agree, nothing to be discovered with Flacco, but he probably gives us the best chance to win, best chance for other offensive players to get opportunities, which is why he is starting. It's not really that hard to understand. Just need to come down a bit on White - he did so so in average as back-up, and Flacco gives best opportunity for the offense to improve. No rocket science here.

I am not sure if he will or won't be here next year. Yes, he is washed up, but as far as back-ups go, he is option. It's not like you are going to get reigning SB MVP QB as a sub. Back-ups are not as good as starters. He was an option this year, and was wanted by multiple teams. Not sure why all of the sudden he is not an acceptable back-up option.

Whether the loss was Mike's fault or not, the fact is that he played for 3 games in Wilson's absence and posted overall very pedestrian stats of 75 rating, and 5 TD and 8 INT. He is also coming off an awful performance. Flacco in the mean time actually had a good showing and did almost as much good in 1 drive as White did the whole game. People forget that there are many guys on offense that need development, including some future starters, not just White, who is at best a future back-up. Flacco probably gives them the best chance this week, and therefore he is the starter. I am not sure why people are struggling with this decision.

Redshirts are dependent on game appearances, not time since the guy moved up from the last level he played and are no longer limited to a single season. There's nothing but your opinion to suggest Flacco is in the best position to improve the offense. Do you believe Flacco is in the best position to be the backup next season?

So glad we went with the experienced old hand today. What a difference it made.
So... Zach or Mike couldn't have done that?

The experienced veteran even got the Jets a very rare TD in the 1st quarter and managed not to lose by double digits. Things are really starting to look up...

Saleh got just what he wanted today, a one score loss. The guy is a loser
