Why in the flying fuck is he still playing? He almost lost this game by himself in the first quarter.
It’s not even his fault anymore. The fact that he’s still playing speaks to the massive ineptitude of this entire coaching staff.
Yeah, I don't blame him either. Him still being there is the offensive equivalent of Guidry on Diggs.
It moreso speaks to Feeney if he can’t get in the field besides being an extra TE like he was today. McDermott was activated and active along with LDT. Both haven’t had the time to get acclimated to the offense. LDT should be in his 2-3rd week of practice so we will see if he slides in to the RG spot.
They're really close. WFH was probably worse though since he was a tackle. Also, I hope LDT can play this week so Zach (hopefully) doesn't get murdered.
Don’t panic. We’re approaching the part of the season where Van Rotten improves against a stretch of bad teams and secures himself a roster spot for next year.
Van Rotten sucks no doubt. I would never argue otherwise, but wasn’t McGovern worse yesterday? (I didn’t watch the 2nd half)
Terrible. Right from the beginning he gives up a rush that results in a pick. goes to show how bad our OL depth is that as bad as this clown is, the coaching staff believes the other guys are worse jeez
They both need 5 to 8 more drafts. Then and only then should we be concerned with how the team plays.
This has to be the wildest part of this year - people preaching patience. The time for patience has long past. This was the year we were supposed to see notable improvement from the team. This was the offseason we added talent to the roster and moved on from one of the worst coaches in Gase. To not be an improved team this year is totally inexcusable. It's time to blame the parties involved and wonder if we should give them any more time in charge.
Van Roten has become a focal point for an o-line that breaks down a lot - and it ain't just at right guard. Sure he's the worst one but he is not the only hole. ATM only AVT is a qualified NFL starter on this line, and not by as much as some here claim. The others are servicable and prone to frequent and untimely breakdowns, especially against better competition. They all should be backups for actual solid starters. The truth is we need an almost brand new offense line to become competitive. But then they'll have a servicable outing against Miami and everyone will say, "we just need a new guard, and maybe center". Rinse and repeat next season.
