Well Dan Brown is trash, and this doctor was good a couple years ago. But he took a year off and then lost his starting job to a 6th round rookie who gets beaten pretty badly in pass protection at times. So it's a good move, but I wouldn't expect anything great. Although a stationary trash can would block more humans than Van Roten.
Two players that don't get much if any offensive play time with their current teams. If yeboah and the new guard start getting game time it's a win for us. Just shows GVR is a dead man walking the moment we can replace him. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
Not entirely true. He broke his hand in camp so someone else was handed the starting job. Whether or not he didn't get it back because he stinks is up for debate. But again it was for Daniel Brown who was one of the worst players I've ever seen play football so even if the guy never touches the field, it's neutral at worst.
I don't know if he sucks or not. It was a good move to make. I'll just believe the guy can still play when I see it. I hope he can - when Canadians are cool, they're really cool.
Do you not remember banning him when you were drunk? He was chanting stuff about Brady being better than Wilson.
Just glad I hopefully don’t have to watch GVR being a human turnstile anymore!! Haven’t liked that since day one we got him. So I am happy with this trade for sure. He’s gotta be better than GVR. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
GVR vs LDT Wasn't he a decent starter for KC prior to 2020? Daniel Brown was hardly rosterable anyway and this gives Yeboah a clearer path to playing time Sounds like a good flier to me.
Solid move. I say let the doctor start vs the Bills. If he gets destroyed every play like Van Roten, at least we can say he is a doctor!
Good move, the more OL fatties the better and he's a smart, stand-up guy you would like in the locker room
This trade is a win win for both sides. Chiefs ultimately get a 1.3 million cap relief move for a guy that wasn't part of the Chiefs future plans. Jets get a Guard desperately needed as GVR was the clear and obvious weak spot on the OL. Giving up Daniel Brown for him? Does anyone even care? I'm just curious to know now how soon Tardif will be ready to play because he hasn't played at all this season.
I don't think they were. This was purely a salary dump (not just his $1.5 salary for this year, but there's a $2 million cap hit next year because he opted not to play in 2020 for Covid, so the portion of the signing bonus attributable to the year he did not play becomes a dead cap hit next year). I think they just might have needed to take a player to get the trade to work and they asked Joe D who would you like to get rid of that doesn't have a salary cap hit for them. I would not be shocked to see Brown cut in the very near future. This is likely a chance for the Jets to get a test drive and see if they like him and if they do then they can resign him.
