I think I heard this board getting pretty fired up about Quincy (the lesser babka) Williams a few weeks back? I believe we as a group of fans have a tendency to blow things out of proportion. Outside of the NE game where things got real bad in a hurry, I think that the defense has hung in there ok this season. If you ignore most of the stats, results and what we see on the field, we've been pretty solid.
Home teams traditionally rule on Thursdays so I'd imagine we struggle. Then again I said that this week too. The issue isn't going to be the QB play or boneheaded mistakes. It's going to be getting railroaded by the group of monsters they have on their offensive line and Taylor hiding behind them.
Sure... we could blissfully ignore the results... but the reality is our carrot cake defense kinda sucks. Too many yards and points... not enough take-aways, sacks or stops.
getting Mosely and Davis back was huge. The D had their best week of the season. Bengals had their least yards in a game in over a month and went 4-11 on 3rd & 4th down. They got 2 short fields on the interceptions benefitting their 31 points.
This is not going to be easy for the Jets, but with White as your QB, they now have a chance for sure. Hopefully, Carson Wentz will play stupid again and help the Jets with his stupid decision-making.
You can't expect White to throw for over 400 yards, but with the offense clicking with this guy and Carson Wentz being the dumb QB on the other side, the Jets do have a good chance. Maybe White will finally show Wilson that the short quick passing game is something he might want to try out next time. White and Brady are classic examples of why the QB position is mostly mental.
You made good points that I failed to consider. I'm not saying the defense sucks across the board... but opponents have consistently exploited out weak spots... some derived from scheme. If they can keep Wentz in check I'll gladly revise my opinion.
Oh. Some personal flavor about this game. This Thursday it is our 20th year wedding anniversary with my wife. Since son is sick, we will be indoors. my gift to her will be not ruining the night with the Jets game. This will be second Jets game in a row I will miss watching. If I end up skipping the game and Jets win again, I am done watching Jets until they lose again.
Make sure to also replicate the bowel movement patterns you have throughout that day, that works even better than skipping games and changing jerseys at halftime.
You should probably move some furniture too since that seems to be the key to kick-starting the offense.
Man if someone that didn’t know anything about football read through this thread they would think the Colts were a good football team. I got news for you, they aren’t. Now of course the Jets aren’t either and I would give the edge to Colts being home on a short week but it is a winnable game. Hopefully MikeMania can last another week cause it’s been pretty fun.
Was watching NFL Network this morning and they said the Jets were entertaining to watch, unlike the Giants. Amazing how one win with a young QB all of a sudden gets people thinking the Jets are exciting. The last decade or so would prove otherwise.
