Saleh is in his 6th game as a head coach lol You can argue until you're blue in the face that he needs to be fired, but that's illogical given the circumstances. Everyone seems to hate the "excuse" about rookies, but it's a real fuckin thing that Jets fans easily seem to ignore. A rookie head coach with a rookie offensive coordinator playing more rookies on the starting roster than any other NFL team since 2012. Yeah, but let's fire him after 6 games. Sounds like the perfect plan.
It's almost impossible to argue he is. The only real argument is to give him more time. Right now I'm just waiting for him to prove that he's a better coach than Gase. He hasn't proven that to me yet. I'm probably just pissed right now, but I don't think I'd lose any sleep if anyone on the staff was fired tonight. Today was a pathetic showing and that starts with the coach. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
Well why don't you provide a blueprint for winning with him. Please enlighten us - w/o using the rookie manta again - because there are other young teams that, at least, play competitively now. So be sarcastic all you want but try providing some tangible and meaningful solutions.
Let's see, the youngest rosters in the NFL are as follows: Jets Panthers Lions Browns Bengals Vikings Rams Jaguars Colts The Jets and Jaguars are the only teams with starting rookie qbs and they are, combined, 2-10. The Panthers just lost 25-3 to the Giants. The Lions are 0-6. The Browns are 3-4 with Baker Mayfield in his third year. The Vikings are 3-3 with a veteran QB. The Colts are 2-4. Outside of the Bengals and Rams, every young team is struggling, particularly those with rookie QBs.
The youthful roster stuff is nonsense. They're all separated by a year to a year and a half. The roster is trash along with the coaching staff. It's ok to say it out loud.
you're obviously not paying attention... I didn't day fire anyone. I'm on the fence as to whether Robert Saleh is the right guy for the job. I'm going to, and I think JD should, use the rest of the season to evaluate Daley and see if he's worth holding on to....
We've had enough views of the lad to say don't do it. Maybe with CMC about but not without. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
Early results are not good. Poor preparation on both sides of the ball. Team has little fire. No second half adjustments. I am more concerned about Saleh than Wilson. I have seen glimpses of quality play from Wilson. I have seen nothing from Saleh.
Saleh may be an inspirational coach but, so far his laissez-faire approach is not working. I found his response to a reporter on whether "It was time to kick the players in the ass" particularly alarming. Saleh commented "These are grown men..they play there tails off. There's a lot of pride in the locker room...If you need somebody to be in your butt yelling at you to get going playing a child's game at a king's ransom then you don't deserve to be wearing the logo. I know we have some guys with character but, every once in a while you get your fuckin', s'cuse my language, You get your teeth knocked in". Clearly a lot of frustration bubbling up in Saleh. I know he is an enormous motivator and teacher. But, I think it's high time he uses that frustration to light a fire under this team and read them the riot act. The soft approach he seems to favor is doing nothing but paving the way for an unprepared team to go out week after week and play with their tails behind their legs and get their fuckin' teeth knocked in. Try something new coach. It couldn't hurt.
Lol. No. It was a bad loss, no doubt. And Saleh has to ultimately be accountable for that. But I want 3 years of Saleh, JD, Zach continuity. Build a long-term solution. Talking about firing him after 6 years is a big knee jerk reaction.
I missed the game first time in God only knows how many years as a Jet fan. Mercifully I was unable to watch it. I’m so freaking upset over this loss you can’t imagine. Is like we completely imploded in massive incompetence across the board. Please tell me I’m wrong. Anyone here, please, please, tell me, that there was a ray of hope or two in this embarrassing defeat. Did anyone come to the game prepared to coach and or play. Was there a stud anywhere or just a team of super duds. It looks dismal for us.
I agree 100%. Tackling is about heart … and I saw a defense full of Tin Men today. That effort was a DISGRACE, and these guys need to hear it.
