Actually the analytics say to go for it on any play on 4th down when you are more likely to get the yards than to turn it over on downs. This is because possession of the football rules in the analytically governed sphere. The emotion governed sphere on the other hand says to punt if there is any chance your decision will look bad. We don't have a lot of evidence to prove the analytics point of view above the high school level. At that level coaches that go for it most of time of 4th down have been *very* successful over the last decade or so.
