I don’t watch a lot of Seattle games, when they are on I do watch them and I was able to watch the complete game against the Rams last night. I know it was only one game but watching Adams last night the Jets did really well getting two number ones and not paying that contract.

He's a perfect example of a player buying the hype about themselves before they actually earn the hype. He's been a one dimensional player since he was drafted. Don't get me wrong, that one dimension is elite. But true elite safeties can cover their way of of a paper bag and don't demonstrably blame their teammates after coverage breaks.

It's mind-blowing that they gave this guy a huge contract after giving up 2 1's + a 3rd rounder. They should have just acknowledged it was a horrible trade and let him walk -- not double down him. That team is so bad defensively. 150+ rushing yards/game allowed and being out gained by over 100 YPG. I think they have a -12 minute TOP as well. I would be shocked if they win any games if Wilson misses any time.

Well said byz. I truly love Jamal for the fact that his self generated hype netted Jets a two 1st round picks and a 3rd round pick. Couldn't be happier. :)

The only type of safety that you pay big big money is one that picks off a lot of balls.

Paying big money to a safety is a bad idea.
You pay your qb, left tackle, edge rusher, and #1 receiver. To get the picks Douglas got for Jamal Adam's and to not have to pay him is his best move yet as a GM.

He didn't seem to develop any, same guy he was as a rookie. They compare him to Brian Dawkins but he's no Dawkins. Dawkins was the unquestioned team leader and worked to improve his game

I think you are forgetting some of the extraordinary games Adams had with jets. One I remember he literally won the game himself. He can be game changing safety. I don’t know what happened last night, he looked a shell of the player I remember. I think the haul JD got back was nice. So he made the move. Worked out for us so far. Seattle need to remedy whatever is happening. We really got a move up on the 3rd rounder, so we got 2 1st. And a move up to 3rd.

The league has schemed for this one trick pony. He will be lucky to get 5 sacks this year. Most OC's will try to draw up plays that gets him in coverage and we all know he can't cover shit. I never liked him and I'm glad he will never win shit with Seattle.

Also, I said it before but I was never bullish on Seattle this year anyway, especially in that division. With Russ missing a month or more, they will most likely be a 8 or 9 win team, making that pick even more valuable.

When he plays well, he can be very fun to watch.

I'm near enough removed from his awful antics to get off this team that I've nearly given up caring on him now.

Got rid of his toxicity and big contract we would have given him and essentially got AVT and another first round pick coming too.

Plus those picks also kick down the financial burden of a big ass contract.

He's deffo a hybrid OLB more than a safety though.

Initially I thought Maye would be a poor man's version version of Reed when we got him. I had much higher expectations than Adams the thing is Adams was used to his strengths and keeping him out of certain coverages that would have exposed him.

He doesn't have that now. He's literally alone in some coverages now and is looking exposed.
Now, is it because no pass rush? No. but it helps.
Their DB's suck? There's some truth
The defensive scheme sucks? Ken Norton Jr. Solid LB coach but was fired from the Rayduhs for his lack of secondary plays and the Seahawks are currently dead last in Total Yards & YPG, 30th in yards and in Yds/Rec so it doesn't say much about him being a great DC and or Seattle's Players on D.

That said, Adams has 0 sacks 0 Int 0 FF and 1 Pass defended.
That's absolutely horrible  but there's no way anyone can sit there and say that he is being used correctly.
He went from stealing the QB's bread to watching from 30 yards out?
nah, A guy like that doesn't have that statline at this point in his career. That's insane..lol

Well said. The Seahawks are using him so incredibly wrong. I know we're all loving how terrible he is in coverage and playing in general but he's another linebacker and these dopes in Seattle are putting him in deep third coverages and shit.

It was funny how he tried to catch the ball with his facemask, ball hawk that he is.

He's getting paid like he's Ed Reed. But he's no Ed Reed.
