The Jets had 2 defensive holdings on runs.. how is that even possible? That roughing the passer was one of the worst I've ever seen. We suck, and it's usually 2 vs 1.
I guarantee the CS discusses the wisdom of the game plan before and after each game. If not, then they would have to be the most incompetent CS ever and should be replaced immediately.
Well, their discussions obviously aren't yielding results. They might be better off just playing it by ear as the game planning always sucks to start the games.
Game is completely on the head coach. This team failed to show up for the first half. That's on Saleh. Period.
Like I've said before, it's fun and easy to criticize this team but we should look at the positives. The Jets outscored Atlanta in the 2nd half. Yeah! The team didn't completely fall apart and get blown out. Yeah! There are still many weaknesses on this team such as safety, linebackers, running backs, tight ends and part of the offensive line. Also, there are a LOT of rookies and a rookie CS.
I’m 53. At this point, this is generally the ceiling of my hopes going into a game like this. So I’m with you here. but we cut it really really close today…
100% spot on! I love that we have a coaching staff that can actually make adjustments and fix things on the fly, but they need to come out of the gate with the right plan. LaFleur seems like every vanilla play caller we’ve ever had. Stupid run calls in dumb situations. Can we please retire the 2nd and 3rd and long runs? In 1990 the field position game made sense. QB’s threw for 200 ypg and 300 was rare. You ran on those long downs to gain field position. Now we have QBs routinely throwing for 300-400 ypg and punters kicking 60 yard punts with ease. You don’t need those 3 yards on 3rd and 15. Try for the fucking first down. Also, I know this drum has been beaten over and over, but every time Mims is targeted he catches the ball. Are you that inflexible that you can’t design a play for a guy who may not be able to play every WR position? Come on, man. As for the D, it seems like we have the same issues we always have. Can’t get INTs, break on 3rd and long all the time. Have we had a reliable ballhawk since Revis? Dude has been gone for 5 years now. It’s insane. All that said, the fact that they make adjustments at least makes me think they know what they’re doing overall, it’s just putting it all together.
Also Saleh cowardly punting on 4th and short twice today was terrible. Be aggressive. Your team sucks anyway.
Hard to be positive as our offense continues to suck balls and our prized rookie QB looks lost out there. yes, I like that they didn’t give up and competed, but my main concern is the QB is inaccurate as fuck and looks completely lost out there. Misses many gimme throws. Passes up on shorter open receivers to make bad throws downfield, and puts too many balls at receivers feet or five yards over their heads. Accuracy is a huge concern. Our OL hopefully will gel and improve our TEs are shit…we need a decent player here badly. I still think we need to play Mims more…another 27 yard catch today. What these coaches are waiting for I have no clue. I don’t know if #8 is actually the same player we saw in training camp but this guy has made zero impact… Our defense isn’t great but they battle…had the offense shown up today it would have helped, but damn, you can’t give up a long TD drive when you finally get within three points late in the fourth quarter. Just can’t make a stop when we really need it.
All we heard about in camp was how Moore was gonna be a beast to cover. The guy seems like he’s never open. Then again, none of our WR’s seem to be, which again I think falls to thebOC.
I’m of the opinion that Jets suck due to poor ownership. They don’t possess the personal knowledge or ability to hire professionals that can assist in collecting the proper talent. The PSL scam locked the fans into bullshit valueless tenancy. Another rebuild..another rebuild… But, their money keeps coming.
