Needs to be cut immediately and I'm talking not even take the flight back to the US. Every game he has an awful penalty and today he has two of them before halftime. He was a dumb worthless draft pick and I have no idea why he hangs around like a vulture. Cut him now and play the rookie Marshall.
2018 Draft Assistant GM: "Mike! We're on the clock." MAC: "Hold on a sec. Anyone seen the coffee creamer?" Assistant GM: "OK, so we've got our franchise QB. We gave up a lot to move up, but we got one. How do you want to support him? Address the OL? Maybe a sure handed WR?" MAC: "Guys.....you all seen this NAIA DIII twenty three yr old DE out of Fort Dickhole State?! Thats my guy!"
It’s funny because it’s true!!! You forgot to add: Scouts….”Who other than Mike scout this prospect?”
LOL and from Canada to boot. He must have some stuff on Woody cause a tackling dummy would be more productive than this guy.
I don't get it. The number of dumb penalties for the amount of playingtime he gets is astounding. And not like they're short on talent on the DL
I thought the first penalty on Shepard for late hit on Ryan was a very bad call by the refs. So I'll give him that one.
To be fair I don't think he's a bad player but you're right now sure he's worth it if he's gonna make dumb penalties every game
Shepherd got the really bad ruffing the passer penalty where the ball was long gone and he hit Ryan low. Even in slow motion, it looked like he took 20 steps and was so late.
Since he was drafted I have yet to see him make an impact play or even just a regular stop. Yet he plays big minutes every game and Denzel Mims who does actually make impact plays whenever he is in yet on the bench.
He was falling down, whether he was tripped or just fell I'm not sure. It didn't look like he was trying to hit or tackle Ryan but just couldn't avoid contact due to momentum. Penalty for sure, but just one of those things for me.
Don't forget, Nathan Shepherd was an earthy, good guy when we drafted him. Two draft warning signs the Jets should avoid at all costs: (1) A player being "versatile" (2) A player being "easy to root for" I absolutely guarantee we'll be linked with a fourth round ILB/S hybrid, recovering from face cancer and working 27-hours-a-day in a steel mill to care for his dying mom. And he'll be fucking terrible at football.
I imagine he's still on the roster because Woody didn't want to pay the dead money. At least he gives us a good game every couple years like when he dominated the LOS against the Giants in 2019.
Something to watch for here…Shepard had a few bad penalties…looks like Tim Ward took some of his snaps yesterday too.
Makes it sting even more becuase Orlando Brown was just chilling on the board for another 11 picks after Shepard.
