    TURNOVERS...

Thats about it...if we can force Brady to throw bad passes and can strip a ball or two we could win this game.

The last game we played against them we forced two turnovers and both of the turnovers led to us scoring a TD.

    Interesting points.

To be honest, I have no idea what the real keys to this game are outside of no turnovers. These guys are both going to game plan and scheme something great, so the obvious won't be obvious.

Should be an awesome match-up to watch.

I suppose that is one way to go about winning. I sure hope there are no injuries on either side, never mind outwardly hoping for one.

    Here's to a great game.

No way am I rooting for an injury, but if Brady went down, and we won the game, I'd take it and be happy. Whatever it takes for a win. No one remembers that the Steelers knocked out Palmer or that the Ravens knocked out Gannon. They remember the Super Bowl wins. In no way will I root for an injury, but I do hope they pound Brady all game.

Interestingly, Seymour has had kind of an off-year. He's arguably been the Pats' third best d-lineman behind Warren and Wilfork.

I think we need no turnovers and a defensive/special teams TD (or an offensive TD heavily set up by the defense or ST).

I think we all know the offense won't move the ball through two yard swing passes to Hodgins and Askew. The Pats are gonna be all over that shit. When we go short we should look to our receivers and tight ends, and the routes should be in the 5-8 yard range. The rest of the time, Chad should work mostly the middle of the field with 10-25 yard passes over the top of the linebackers. Those throws are Chad does best in the intermediate game NOT out and corner routes to the sidelines. To keep them honest call a 2 or 3 go routes along the sidelines, something which Chad is fairly effectively at.

Defensively, we had the master plan last game, so that kind of worries me. We did exactly what you need to do last game to stop the Pats, so I'm sure the Pats will have made some adjustments. However, since the Pats receivers are so shoddy, I think we have to force them to beat us, and force Brady to make the perfect throw. Blitz fairly often and play tight, physical defense. Also, come up with some way to slow down the run because I'm sure the Pats are gonna come out running with the way our run d has been in recent weeks!

on defense... constant pressure on brady, this doesnt only mean disguising blitzes for rhodes and hobson, but that thomas and ellis realy step up and play to their potential. we all know its not easy to get past that line and pressure him, but when we do, hes a different quarterback. as for the run game, this could hurt us. in my opinion, maroney could be the second best back out of this draft, and dillon coming in to get the tough yards isnt going to help. their going to get their yards, we just need to make sure no huge runs.

on offense... chad has to keep up the good work. playing smart by finding the right guys to throw to on the short passes, and being accurate when throwing downfield. we have a ton of playmaking recievers, and the more they get the ball, the bigger chance we're gonna break a huge play. as for our run game, its not exactly our strong point.. but get houston in for the tough yards, and then use washington how he should be used: outside runs and screen passes. if the passing game is going well, we could see an option pass for brad smith...

on special teams: no mistakes most importantly. nugent needs to keep up his game as hes been doing. another big play from justin miller wouldn't hurt either, as hes been quiet the second half of the season, but we cant ask for too much.

if we play smart and execute like we are capable of, good things will happen. we dont have a shutdown d or an explosive offense, but when chad is making smart decisions and getting the ball to the playmakers and when players on defense are doing what they should be, we can compete with any team.

i cant wait for this game.

Ball control, Chad upping his performance a little, and keeping New England from achieving the big play.

-look for Reche Caldwell, during the Watson injury hes become a huge target for Brady.

-use constant disguising with Rhodes, when you want him to cover, have him up on the line to where brady adjusts protection. you want him to blitz have him rush from "centerfield". only sprinkle a few blatant covers/blitzes in there.
this will allow Coleman or Smith to go unaccounted for on a certain play in which we might be able to caiptalize on

-of course, pressure Brady, i would prefer to see MLB cross blitzing, some pinches and twists up front.

-pennington MUST throw to baker more. the pats LB's will be paying some zone attention to coles/cotch in an attempt to hit them during the short routes to generate some drops. move baker around and get him going on some intermediate routes where he can use his size to shield DB's away from the pass.

-do NOT abandon the run, it kept the def honest last time, other wise theyll squat on anything under 15 yards in the pass game.

Guys, its the Playoffs and the Jets are playing their divisional rival. If they need a fight film to get them prepped for the game, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs.

It's not a question of getting them prepped for the game. It's a question of setting the tone that Mangini wants to play by next week.

One of the things that's gone a bit unnoticed, although a few of the media types have mentioned it, is how different the Jet's game plans and even attitude have been from week to week this season. It really is like playing a different team each week with a few constants (like Chad's short passing game) in place throughout.

I have no idea what film subject Mangini is going to tackle on Friday night but I'm betting that there's no football in it...

The key is to score more points than the Patriots do.

The key is that Brady, Dillon, Maroney, Seymour, Wilfork, and Warren all get kidnapped before the game....

You could have used the same line before the game in Foxboro earlier this season. :)

lol a respectable pats fan talks trash for the first time. good for you.

actually I'll just hope that Brady is busy doing a shitty Family Guy cameo or him and the OL get held up at a place that doesnt accept Visa.

We need a solid gameplan and to play mistake free. Keep the score low and close and we have a shot. If we try and do the same thing as last time BB will exploit us. I truly feel this game will be won by coaching and therefore execution. Stick your blocks, pick up the blitz and DO NOT Turn the ball over. It should be a close winnable game.

Harrison himself though said he expects to play. Not sure what to believe.
