Talk about a change in culture! Love where this franchise is headed. Signings like this prove we are in the right direction
I think either CuMar or maybe Revis insured their legs. I think at least a few other big name players have as well, but I can't remember who.
I'm sure they do, but there's also usually language in a lot of the big deals that guarantee the contract for injury so they let the team pickup that insurance tab.
good for him. well deserved. he's been a great pick up who has way exceeded expectations. It locks in lawson and JFM as starters next year. Also good that he wants to be here and loves saleh. now all the JD naysayers about not paying our talent can quiet for a little bit
This would have been his second FA and he didn't fare so well the first time, he might view this DL as his ticket to an elite level contract. Either way, fuck yeah. He was the one I was worried JD would fuck up. This is killer news.
Good for him. He's great at generating pressures and the sack numbers are starting to come in the new 4-3 scheme.
Pretty good deal for both sides. getting a good rusher for less then 15 mil is always team friendly but on his side over 13 mil a yea ris really good compared to what he was making and wasn't worth throwing away at the hope of getting more in the open market
That seems about rite. I was worried JD might wait till the end of the year & try to do a Robby Anderson on him. Good work JD.
What do you mean by timing? I'd like to re-sign Maye, Fatukasi, and maybe Joyner again also.. Depending how the rest of season plays out, maybe even Phillips and Quincy Williams on the cheap.
One of my favorite parts of this whole story that will go unnoticed is it was broke by one of our young, local beat guys! This is not a coincidence: Our current regime is like a vault and they purposely gave DJ the story to build good will and trust with the local media, which is by far the most important since they tweet about the team everyday. Really smart move--these are some of the things that JD does that I just love.
Good for him. I've got nothing against Jamal Adams but paying the right guys instead of the noisiest is the way to build a team.
That's one of my biggest gripes. I despise that "my guys" bs mentality some GMs have. Talent is talent period. Especially in today's NFL where you don't have 6-8 years to build. You think anyone remembers that Dungy built that Tampa Bay team that was dominating and won a super bowl? Nope. Chucky gets the glory just 1 year after with a team he inherited... no "rebuild" or Barry Switzer in Dallas? Just Keep the damn talent...lol
100%. My biggest gripe also. I don't care where a player came from, build upon the talent you have. There are no 5 year building plans anymore. It's not necessary.
Curtis Martin Lloyd's of London. Good luck trying to find out whatever happened with that, because you can't.
