Two huge chunk throws by Wilson didn't help at all? Each one going for 50-60 yards? Come on lol. Wilson definitely made some mistakes - the interception (half his fault), the missed throw on third down late, not throwing it out of bounds near the goal line. He was also a big reason why we were in the game though. That's an interesting take. I think if any negative conclusion is to be drawn on Wilson it's that he's perhaps low floor. I think it's hard to deny he's potentially high ceiling.
Not for nothing, but that interception was not Wilson's fault, at all. It was a timing route and Davis slipped on the break. No chance that's on Wilson
It was definitely partially Davis' fault but the coverage was so good on that play that it may well have been picked anyway.
I don't think that is the case at all. It was a timing play and the receiver slipped at the end of the route. Even the announcers, who are normally fuckin idiots, were saying that was 100% not on Wilson
So, you're saying the announcers, who are normally fuckin idiots, couldn't possibly be fucking idiots on one play if they agree with you? Hmmm. The defender had the timing nailed and was there whether or not the receiver slipped.
Saleh said it was on Davis slipping. But Davis made up for it with a great catch on a high throw that could have turned bad.
No, the announcers are still fuckin idiots. My point was even a fuckin idiot can tell it was on Davis slipping. Not a surprise I have to elaborate to you though
In a different article I see some other quotes from Saleh. Saleh said Wilson https://jetsxfactor.com/2021/10/03/ny-jets-fever-prescription-contrasts-boring/ Maybe the best quote from Saleh was during his press conference when he saw ZW throw the TD to Davis. He said he was saying no no no before a pause and an expression of happiness.
Corey Davis slips and fucked the whole play up to know what the outcome would've been and judge Wilson on it wholesomely. Regardless of that, it looked like the wrong decision. He threw a deep in breaking route right at a defensive back playing inside leverage in zone coverage. Looks like Davis + Wilson need to collectively agree to run an out there for an easy pitch and catch. Receiver falls, tough break and all, but it didn't look like the right decision at all.
Yes I agree Saleh was saying Zach made the right read and put the ball right where he should. The player at fault from that Saleh quote was Davis not Zach.
Of course the defender being right where he should be was simply a matter of luck, right? How can you justify your opinion with the words of someone you claim is a fuckin idiot?
he can do that but that ruins the timing of the play. if the play is designed for ball out in 2 seconds on the 1st read and he's pressured in 1.7 then it's a broken play when he escapes.
Are we really debating the one interception when he went on to have an amazing 2nd half and OT to win the game?
Not sure what the debate is. Saleh quite clearly said Zach made the right read and through the ball right where he needed to throw it. End of story. If a hater is still arguing over this INT it tells you how biased and psychotic they are. There were lots of bad throws by Zach in the game they can rant about trying to argue the INT was Zach's fault just tells you how much their hate of Zach has biased their judgment, logic and ability to think objectively. They are so upset the Jets won and Zach was a big reason why they are reaching for anything they can find.
