If the OL, RBs, and TEs don't play markedly better and LaFleur and Saleh do a much better coaching job this Sunday, then I will be joining you in downgrading my prediction to 2-15.
I was much too optimistic. with that said a lot of people in here had us starting 0-4 so not sure why everyone is surprised we are 0-3 right now
thats 4 people. alot of others had us going 1-4 (still possible) in the 1st 4 games. the point was it's expected.
yeah we expected out defenses to get torched and our offense to look good. instead the offense has been crap and the defense looks good so I guess we could be happy about our defense
Serious question - what has surprised you so much? Where did you expect the biggest difference to what we've seen? Was it reality based or did you just get caught up in the hype?
I thought the offense would perform a lot better than it has, so I definitely think I got caught up in the hype. That’s not to say I thought we’d be putting up 40 points a game but I definitely didn’t expect them to look this bad. I also didn’t think the defenses we faced (outside of Denver) would be as good as they’ve been. I thought they’d be solid, mid-tier-ish, but they’re both top 5-7 units right now. The defense has actually performed slightly better than I thought so that’s a pleasant surprise. If the offense had performed like I thought they would, put up 20-25 points a game, I really think we’d be 3-0 or 2-1. We hung around with Carolina fairly late into the game and with NE until early in the 3rd, so if we put up some points, those games could’ve turned out differently. All in all, I think I definitely got caught up in the hype and thought our OC would play to the strengths of our QB, which hasn’t been the case so far.
God. We're all always so ridiculously wrong. I'm looking at the schedule again and we better throw the kitchen sink at the Texans so we make sure we get on the board. That way we won't of course hilariously be the team to go 0-17 in the inaugural 17 game season.
