He's damaged goods, but he's a 6'6 350lb OT. We should be able to get him cheap. He just never translated from college to the pros, due to some mental health issues. I know there's some character issues and we're working on building a high character team. But the state of our O-line says we should take a chance; its low risk-high reward. If we stick him in as RT, which is sorely needed....it could go a long way. If he doesn't work out, we cut bait like Tennessee and Miami did. What do you guys think?
i vote yes, watched him play for three years at georgia and he was a fucking stud. don;t know what happened to him but would be worth a look. IMO
You mean the guy who got suspended this season for 2 games for trying to bribe a drug sample collector and then tried to appeal it which made it 5 games? https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...llins-attempted-bribe-nfl-drug-test-collector
you realize he is suspended right now? he's still a head case and causes issues. same went for josh gorden and getting suspended all the time. sure we can take a chance on him, but don't expect much out of it if we do
Right at this moment in time, I'd choose him over van rotten, he could be worse but not by very much but he could be way better if he sorted his head out.
I'm generally anti-take a risk on these guys because they're bad for culture but at this point I think you'd do a better job at right guard than Van Roten so we might as well.
he's better then GVR for sure. I have no idea how GVR is in the NFL let along getting paid more then the minimum to be a 3rd string.
No way in hell. Sorry, but that's just crazy. The guy obviously has no desire to play in the NFL, has zero work ethic, is dumb as a box of rocks, and has awful character. You're smarter than this.
I know it's crazy and a big risk. I'm not saying put him out there Sunday off the street. We can at least work him out though.
I'm not looking for boy scouts, I'm looking for guys who can play the game. Take him in, coach him up and see if he has it. He screws up and he's gone. Nothing ventured, nothing gained...or lost.
I'm not going to pretend like I know much about him but if he has serious character or even mental health issues this might not be the best spot for him. GVR is already sick of hearing he sucks on social media. You want to put someone who's potentially unstable in this dumpster fire?
Apparently one of the issues at play is that the blocking schemes are too difficult for current group. If true, how would adding a guy not known for his mental agility help? Not to mention the character issues. On that last point I'd be somewhat flexible at this point, but I think the first point erases any reason to even bother.
