Someday when we're all part of a hive mind you guys are going to miss this nifty voluntary voting process.
Okay we are the underdogs tomorrow. 10.5 points underdogs. But I don't think Broncos are as good as advertised as a 2-0 team and Jets are as bad as an 0-2 team. We have a shot. Double team Von Miller, create a game plan around easy short throws for Wilson. As long as defense holds their own, we have a shot. I gave up on my playoff hopes already. I admit, I was delusional. But come on Jets, make this game competitive and give us hope for the future. Go Jets!
Our odds of winning today are as good as someone trying to swim from Alcatraz Is. to San Francisco on the outgoing tide.
Amazing to read this stuff. What has been your guys thinking about little Mikey Lafleur. How do you guys think he has called games so far? To be honest? Its crazy to see the Jets a 10 point dog to this team. But thats where the franchise has sunk to. I just wonder how smart it was looking back now with hooking up our number 2 overall pick with a rookie unknown O.C. that has only bloodlines. Hey, he might end up being a genius...really...but quite the gamble putting it all out there with your prized rookie QB.
I think the game will be closer than the spread indicates. As we all know, this game and season will go as Zach goes. We really need him to bounce back today from last week’s horrendous performance. I would love to see a full game out of him like he played in the 2nd half of the CAR game. Here’s to hoping! Go Jets!
Jay, we both know the Jets rarely hire guys with prior HC experience. Gase was awful as a HC in MIA and promptly was hired because he was "coaching where football is headed". So, we hire another HC w/o prior experience who brings in his buddy for OC who also has no prior experience to coach a young QB with no prior experience. Such is life in JetLand. We are the unchallenged kings of organizationally bad decision making. Its who we are and its what we do... 2021 becomes the FIRST OJT year. 2022 will be the second year. Hopefully by then, LeFleur will have come up with a workable game plan. If not, there's always '23...'24....'25 and so on...
CMAN...without mentioning your name (OF COURSE...I will never ever mention any of you by your names) I made reference to a post of yours in one of my videos. I guess I'm just really surprised...and in a crazy way, kind of proud of the fanbase not sitting blindly by and allowing an out of control honeymoon period which I FULLY EXPECTED. So you do not believe it was a wise idea going with a rookie O.C. and no real veteran presence on the staff to take charge of a number 2 overall QB? Me coming back into the rooms and listening to all you guys is the best thing I ever did....BY FAR. I clearly didn't have my finger on the pulse of the Jet fan. I know there are fans who are being more patient too. I do. There has been such a blind love starting with Joe that it kind of shocked me...until I started reading all of these posts. Now Joe, Saleh, Little Mikey...they all may end up being very very good for the team. I know I'm not explaining myself well here....lets just leave it with this....great to read all these opinions.
But man Abyz....that sucks right? Sitting back and just watching for improvement? Thats what preseason used to mean for me...but I kind of agree with you. Thats what this has become. Friggin sad...hey I get the whole first year HC, OC, DC. crap...I do. But this team brought in a bunch of receivers...threw a crapload of resources at the offensive line. And yeah the defense got hit hard by injury but get in line...its the f'in NFL. I expected more this year...I really did. I didnt expect another year to see how many 5th and 6th rounders we could "steal".
I actually discussed this with friends recently. I wondered if I had just matured and my priorities had changed, OR if the Jets non-stop losing had numbed me to it occurring because I feel I care less than I did in the past and I am able to get over losses much quicker than I used to. We decided that it is likely a bit of both. I want to win though. Losing sucks.
What bothers me is the instance that Mims, who MHO is clearly better then BB and JS as a WR, that he is not up to speed on the positions yet in his only appearance at Carl he caught a 40 yard pass. What happen to USING your players strengths and adapting your scheme to allow success? Seems to me, these new C are cut form the same mold as other coaches who talk a good game.
The jets are last in the league in QB pressure rate with a 50 percent rate and have also given up the most sacks in the league. The Jets have no chance of beating anyone with a pressure rate anywhere near that high. Number one they need to figure out their protections. Way to many free runners to stand a chance. I guess the good news is it is still early and there is time to learn, gel and improve. Curious to see how we respond today but I am pretty pessimistic about this game against Denver.
It's the Jets in the NFL, JW. The Jets will always start their NFL day with the biggest disadvantage of a clueless, meddling ownership group that really only cares about keeping a freshly stocked slush fund for their trust fund baby owners. Woody and Chris probably own one testicle between the two of them, and they share it like the blind witches in Clash of the Titans shared the eye, it's no wonder they are small fries at every ownership meeting. They are always going to be a sponge that sucks some of the life out of the franchise and I'm sure we don't even know a fraction of the dumb shit the football guys in this organization have to put up with from them. So for now I am content to see what appears to be a somewhat honest attempt at a rebuild, although it was set up to either suffer or fail with terrible timing by, you guessed it, the owners. I guess I'm not as invested in the team as I once was. The bar is very low with me now.
I hear you CF...I am totally ok with the Saleh thing. I guess my big question is as a fan...as a fan....I kind of just accepted the team hiring a rookie O.C. whos only real claim to fame is bloodlines. AGAIN...he can be a great one...he can...but looking back at it, how good of an idea was it to draft a 2nd overall QB and put him with Mikey and cross your fingers, especially after what we just got over the previous 3 years. The untimely death of Greg Knapp was never truly replaced with someone with some kind of experience to just listen to the kid. Talk to him. Leaving that all to Lafleur? I'm just not sure and hey..very good chance I'm overreacting at this point. But with the past of this franchise, you have no choice but to overreact. I'm still waiting to see the big boys are in charge. Joe...Saleh...and little Mikey. I still have faith in them. BUT....the clock is ticking much earlier than I thought it would. Much.
Sometimes we don't look very hard either. Depends on who's doing the interviews. I think Parcells was the last HC hired with prior HC experience. That's a really long time ago..
