Good for Sam, so he’s finally developing after being in the NFL for 4 years and not being coached by loser HC hires. The lesson for Jets fan is simple, don’t rush Wilson development, give him weapons, and make sure OC uses those weapons.
overall yes but he still looks rattled under pressure and had 2 fumbles he got lucky didn't get recovered by the defense and also missed moore deep for an easy TD. Sam is still the same player, he has a ton of arm talent and can be good, just needs a system to fit him as he still isn't great at the mental aspect.
they have so many ex jets too on that team. either way i'm happy for sam. he got away from a shit show and is 3-0 now.
Darnold looked good last night. Still would not go near him with a 1000ft pole and I am THRILLED we got rid of him. I was a huge Darnold fan at the beginning, but he left a bad taste in my mouth with his stupid ass decisions and constant disregard of ball security. He may look good right now but I can almost guarantee you these issues will start popping up again. He had the exact same problems in college. I love that we drafted Wilson and I think the sky is the limit for the kid. This franchise needed a change and I think Wilson is a far far more talented player than Darnold ever will be. I couldn't care less what Darnold does in Carolina
Absolutely. I wanted nothing but good things to happen for, Sam. I never thought he was the true problem but I did feel he needed a change of scenery. As did the Jets. Unfortunately, It's not looking so rosie for us right now. Hopefully that changes soon.
it's 2 games in. I wouldn't worry much about it. Carolinas D is legit this year and bellichick always gets the bets of rookie QBs. I'm happy for sam and robby though. 2 good jets who are now doing good with carolina. Plus they have Luvu who I always liked. He may not have been the best but he always gave it all and was always flying around. He caused a fumble last night too
Seems like a great guy and I hope he does really well - 3 weeks into his time with Carolina and he has done well, even after CMC went down in the last game.
Can’t understand the Sam hate. Guy was a class act and got a raw deal stuck with Bowles than Gase. He could have been a prick and tried to throw Gas under the bus, but took it in stride. If we was in our division it would be a different story, no harm in rooting for the guy to do well in the NFC South.
A big part of people wanting to see Sam fail in Carolina comes from us having their 2nd rounder in 2022. I have nothing against him and hope he has some success just to make our previous CS look bad. Is that petty? Maybe, but it was obvious after he got fired by the Fins that Gase had no business getting a HC job right away.
You didn't hear he has a bottom 5 offensive talent? That argument is hilarious. Defending Darnold is good by pointing to the fact he's only been good in the few games he had the best RB playmaker in the NFL to dump off to every snap.
Consistency has always been his issue and I don't think any amount of talent around him is going to fix that. He's still super young so you can't totally give up on him, but he's looking like a career backup at this point.
It seems to me the Jets have decent talent right now. Maybe it's the coaching and not the drafting that's the problem.
