First tme on the board, whatever that means. Anyways, I've just been reading the board and wondering why more people aren't talking about picking Reggie Bush. I know we have other, more pressing needs than RB (but an eventual need with Curtis being where he's at) but I'm also a believer in taking a chance on greatness. Bush has eye popping tools and from all reports, the mentality to match. There's not much doubt that this guy is the FACE of an organization in waiting. He could be our Brett, our Walter, our Butkus. On the field, Bush is a game changer a la Randy Moss. I don't care how many touches they get, just them being on the field changes things, someone the defense has to scheme against (who was the last Jet we could say that about? ever?) thus opening things up for the rest of the offense. You saw it last year in MN. where things weren't quite as open as it had been for Culpepper. Watch Bush motion out of the backfield and watch the defense freak out. How I would see it working out a year or two of platooning with Martin and Martin mentoring (because Curtis is Class), and letting Reggie bulk up naturally with age and training while also letting him get experience on the field. Draw up packages specific to him where he can suceed and exploit. And then 2 yrs from now, unleash him. 2. I'm okay, not thrilled but okay with going into the season with Chad, Kitna/Ramsey, and Bollinger. A rook QB isn't gonna be exponentially better his first year than that trifecta. I don't like the idea that it's now or never to draft a QB. I wouldn't mind if they took Cutler or Leinart (the safe thing to do and realatively defendable for management if things don't pan out) but there's always a QB with comparable potential in almost any draft. I'm not saying do whatever is necessary to get the #1 pick and Bush because really, all we're talking about is potential/ and at what risk, but if the Texans want Ferguson and the price is fair but reasonable, take a chance. No, you don't win with one player but it's a good place to start.

because to get #1 the texans are asking a ricky williams kind of blow you away deal. and since we need a entire new offense thats a dumb move to go up to 1

I think that Bush is the most overrated player in the draft. Yes, a great kick returner. Yes, a special talent. but he is not an every down back, and without a big guy opening up the outside for him he's gonna struggle. He was behind a great O-line at USC, working with a great QB and a great team.

Look Bush is a really really talented guy. The way he can just shake guys is amazing. But he can't shake 11 guys. He's not worth the first overall. Right now the Texans should trade down and kill some team by taking their picks... because Reggie Bush will be a huge BUST.

To move up to #1 Tannenbaum would have to give Charlie Casserly a handjob every month, his RIGHT nut, #4 overall this year, #1 next year a 3rd rounder this year and maybe even another pi9ck in 2007...

At this point we need to keep all those picks...Bush will be a good player, but we sadly can't afford that kind of move.
