That’s fine but you’d have figured that 5-6 wins was likely the outcome this year anyways. Team is a big time work in progress. Gotta be patient.
Do we really have posters making excuse after excuse for Wilson this game? That seems like a straw man, I don't think I've seen any of that. He played terribly. It's not up for debate.
I think Saleh told him 'Hey man......All gas, no brakes!'. And he got the wrong impression afterwards with forcing all his throws lmao.
You have been one of the realistic posters, took biased out of It. I have a lot of respect for you. I'm not going to go out of my way to start calling people out, but, yes... Several were making every excuse they could to deflect from Wilson playing so poorly today.
It is Game 2. What did you expect? This team is getting better Zach had a rookie day and had some bad turnovers. The rest of the rookie QBs struggles as well including Mac ( he just played not to lose). The future is bright for this team and I am encouraged with the way the tr played this first two weeks with the youngest team in the league.
On the real tho, playcalling is shit. But j absolutely agree, jesus its ridiculous. This is the youngest team in the NFL. All the rookie QBs looked bad today.
well with that kind of “plan” they are sure to have a 5 win max that’s for sure last September win was week 1.... 2018 this was the 13th straight September loss. Next week will be the 14th. And it’s yet another season where it’s over by October 1st
It has had its up and downs but that's also because this is a rookie QB paired with a guy who has never been an offensive coordinator before. This is part of the growth process. You can't have the youngest roster in the league and a young coaching staff and not expect bumps like this along the way. This team wasn't going to start winning tons of games in the first year together.
I will tell you what I did not expect. A QB rating of 37.0 for a guy that was getting Mahomes comparisons.
I'm willing to give JD and Saleh some heat for not signing a veteran QB. They could have signed Tyrod Taylor early and failed to do so. He is playing very well for Houston. I understand that they wanted to play and develop Zach and this is a rebuilding year, so they don't really care about wins and losses. I'm also more than willing to give Saleh heat for hiring his friend LaFleur as OC when he should have hired an experienced OC. We have a rookie QB that needs and deserves solid play calling and wiser decisions.
Because it is abysmal. Has any rookie in the last three years started any game and ended up with a rating that low? Did Sam Darnold ever have a game with a QB rating that low? How about Sanchez? The Patriots also started a rookie and he didn't look like hot garbage.
Well that was pitiful. I get a rookie QB making a couple mistakes and missing some plays. But Zach who supposedly is a high QB (I still don’t get why they think he is) made many mistakes. He wasn’t impressive at all. I can’t blame it on playing calling. I can’t blame is on OL. Mac Jones was a much better QB. A much better QB. Hopefully Zach will turn it around but I am starting to get very concern that he may be not as good many think he is.
No he wasn't. Mac dinked and dunked behind a veteran team. Zach had a bad game and made it very easy Mac. I really wonder about peoples football IQ.
Anyone care to guess how well Andrew Luck played against Rex Ryan and Bill Bellicheat his rookie season? How did TL and Justin Fields play today People really are ignorant. I would not mind have a veteran step in but it really does not happen especially with a young team. Dolphins are the only ones in recent memory but they were making a playoff run.
What? The Pats will not make the playoff this year and I am sure that fan base will freakac Jones is not winning you any games but he won't lose many either. I guarantee we beat the Pats the next time we play.
Signing a guy like Tyrod Taylor would've had all the makings of a "QB controversy", which I suspect is what JD and Saleh didn't want to happen. Maybe they're wrong in their assessment of how good a prospect Zach is (but I doubt it), but if they believe that Zach is a potential FQB they didn't want to add any confusion into the mix. So if they don't want to consider a decent QB as a backup, who's left? I think they believe Zach will take his lumps and learn from them. If they're wrong, they're going have a lot to answer for, but I don't think anyone can say they're wrong after 2 games.
