I don't recall anyone saying Darnold wasn't playing poorly. Even his supporters acknowledged he was. The question was how much was him and how much was on the chuckle brothers Gase and Loggains and the lack of talent, and whether he could be salvaged. The early returns would suggest he could be, to an extent at least, but the race is far from over.

The UK (I think you're in the UK, yes?) is about as free as the USA so yes, I'd say your safe.

The Johnson's are about selling tix and margins. It has nothing to do with football. Punting on Sam was strictly a money move.

Unfortunately, this appears to be the primary driver of much of the decision-making process. Since JD arrived, we've been rolling over cap space and fielding a low buget team. It's like the Johnson's are trying to recoup lost money from Mac's ridiculous signings.

To be fair, Darnold's first game he had a near-perfect passer rating and put up 48 points.

I thought for a brief moment then that we had finally landed our long term answer at QB :(

It’s only 2 games, the oline is already playing much better than the first week, Michale Carter looked good. A rookie QB and CS went up against a HC who has 47 years of experience in the NFL and is going to the HOF.

Calm down please, it will be ok.

The funny part is I was the guy on here saying "He's good, but the team is bad. The Lions are going to be the worst team in the league." I actually got my account suspended that week for being "too negative" when everyone else on the Board was happy.

That was why I said except for Trevor Lawrence, you stick with Sam and his 3 years of experience (and a few more $$$ against the salary cap).....and then you get three #1 draft picks and a couple of 3's or a 2nd rounder. Maybe a bit more.

Had the Jets PUBLICLY put out the #2 overall pick, the bidding war would have been unreal esp. once Deshaun Watson was "massaged" out of the picture. :D We may have gotten four #1 picks if Carolina's owner or SanFran would not be outbid.

It's not about Zach. I felt only TL was the no-brainer, the one guy you couldn't pass over. Every other QB had question marks about them.

That's why keeping Sam and getting the bounty for the #2 overall made sense -- but some folks here would have quit the site and quit being Jets fans.

Fill out this form in triplicate and we'll take your application to be concerned into consideration.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to feel the need to feel concerned about thinking it's time to be concerned.

He was over 40 points off a perfect passer rating and threw a pick six on his first pass. The Jets scored 14 of those 48 points on special teams/defense and scored another 10 points on drives where his average starting field position was the Detroit 25.

Your statement is sensationalized like craaaazy.

When I see posts about how we should have kept Darnold, or how our scouting department sucked, or we were wrong about Zach having potential to be our QB...I'd call that giving up.

I'm not making excuses; Wilson played horrible today. He couldn't get much worse. But it needs to be understood that this is going to be a lot of this year. Rookies usually take time to learn. Sometimes great QBs hit the ground running like Ben Roethlisberger or Matt Ryan. Most are like Manning or Aikman, and they take a year or so to find their feet.

Would you like everyone to kiss your feet. You were wrong because the GM and coaching thought so. The next Jets Win or Zach having a good game will you be back saying how wrong you were.

This crap is just getting old. You do not know better than JD.

Aren’t we jumping to conclusions too early. The right move was to restart the clock with Wilson. Darnold was done here. Give the guy chance. Bad games are normal for rookies. He was forcing the ball, trying to do too much.
