Why the fuck can’t we ever have any nice things? And what’s worse is now we have to play Ashtyn Davis who as we know, is awful.
When your team has 10 rookie DBs who only need reps to go from Z to A, then this may be a good thing?
I'm a Joe Douglas guy, but should he get any blame for everyone he signs getting injured? It doesn't matter how much you improve your team on paper if everyone you sign gets hurt. I know that is a tough question since you can't predict injuries.
No, a lot of the signings made absolute sense. I'd argue they all made sense outside of Feeney who has been awful his whole career. Lawson, Curry, Joyner, Jarad Davis... they are were fits and in some cases like Lawson, home runs. On paper he did everything right.
Yeah, I agree. Just bad luck. It makes sense to ask the question because so many of the Jets' new additions instantly were injured this year. We all agree, that is out of Joe Douglas' control. It is interesting and unfortunate though.
How do you blame Douglas for an injury to an athlete playing a sport? That's not even a question. That's sports
I agree. I just asked the question because the Jets have had so many new additions already go down in 2021. It is remarkable.
Hell no he shouldn't get blame for players he signed getting injured. He can't predict that. Maybe with older FAs, or players coming off a major injury or who have a track record of being injury prone, but not with every FA. Would the team have been better if he didn't sign Lawson or Joyner? No, it clearly would not have been better. Some posters/fan have already complained that JD didn't sign enough FAs and use up the cap space. Injuries happen, and the Jets have notoriously bad luck. Look at what has happened to the Ravens. Should their GM be blamed for all the season-ending injuries? No.
It is a reasonable question to ask. It depends on the nature of the injury and the player's history. If a guy has a history of multiple hamstring pulls and pulls his hamstring week 1 then you'd would have every reason to be critical of the signing and/or prep.
