We've had nothing but seasons of moral victories.

Thanks for posting the link. The loss is still pretty raw for me to watch the pc. Can anyone summarize.

No, we haven't even had those in quite some time.

In stark contrast to his predecessor, Saleh was quite positive in the presser, as he should be, because of the improvement of play in the 2nd half and Wilson's performance. He wasn't asked about the onside kick though. Probably had no faith in the DEF to hold - and he turned out to be correct. At worst, the Jets are watchable again with Zach, although not exactly ideal to have a 2-1 pass to run ratio every game.

It all starts up front. The starting 5 needs work - didn’t play together a lot this preseason. Especially Tucker obviously - needs a few games to get in sync. Need to get that running game going ....that’ll help Zack more than anything.

Zack showed he belongs especially after he settled down. For a guy running for his life most of the day he played very well.

CMC was shredding us on the outside. The onside kick was a no brainer

Agreed. The vast majority of the past 10 years have been futility with no moral victories. Today's game exposed a lot of the weaknesses that, to be honest, everyone pretty much already knew about. We knew the O-line and secondary were weak, and the pass rush was going to be questionable with Lawson hurt. But what I saw gave me hope: Wilson played well, Salah was able and willing to make adjustments, the team, despite having gaping holes, didn't play sloppy or stupid. I saw steps in the right direction. How far in the right direction it goes remains to be seen, but I'll keep up the hope until I see otherwise.

I'm honestly just glad we made halftime adjustments and that they appear to have worked well. It says that our coaching staff is competent, which is new.

All things considered, the secondary held up better than expected. I think had that one 3rd down not have occured when it did, the jets stop them and get the ball back. Momentum halted after that time out. Took a moment to get it back.

Cashman injured a hamstring. Now there's a player who is injury-prone and can't stay healthy.

There was a question that someone asked that Saleh said that he wasn't going to answer. I couldn't hear what the question was. Could anyone hear what that question was?

I agree - we haven't even faced a good NFL QB yet. Based on what I saw from Sam I don't see a much improved version from what Jets had. Yes, allowing 19 points is OK, but Sam alone gifted us with 14 or more easy points with the fumble, missing wide open guys in end zone, etc... They were in a FG territory a few times too, but opted to punt and kicker missed a PAT. With the time Sam had any top QB will slice us like a butter with hot knife.

Overall watching this game it felt like a Gase game of SOJ. Yes, there was some comeback in garbage time and adjustment, but overall coaching was not good. I am hoping this is because we have a rookie as a coach and this was the first game, but Saleh and Co need to do A LOT better.

That was HUGE. Even if we're lacking on talent, it says that if/when we ever do get the right talent, they'll actually get used properly.

Maybe...Personally, I'm no longer very sure of that. Mims has a lot of talent and they sure as hell aren't using him properly. Both Saleh and LaFleur should he horsewhipped for not using Mims more. Not playing him because he doesn't know all 3 WR positions is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard of in football.

    Agreed.

Put him in at the one he knows - the one where he makes athletic catches down field.

I've read this a few times. Garbage time is when a team is streets ahead and there is no hope of a comeback. The Jets scores were not in garbage time.

Is this really written by the same guy who was heaping praise on the coaching staff all summer long?
