They're coming into a bad situation. I hope this game makes it incredibly obvious why Wilson should've sat. Remove him from the equation as a talent or what you think about him. There should've 100% been a stopgap signed to take this beating.

It's disturbing that Douglas put this much effort into the OL and it's this bad.

Wilson and the rest of the team played much better in the 2nd half which should give most here some hope going into the next game.

Belichick is going to be licking his chops after watching the Jets OL.

trial by fire. Seemed like the right side was beaten like a drum and no real run game. Still Zach performed admirably despite this being his first game.

I was for it, but it became clear that wasn't their intention when they didn't sign decent backup options.

Sam Darnold should have been the Jet's season opening QB with the expectation that Wilson would take the field at some point in the season.

No downside in that situation because Darnold takes the beatings as the Jets offense gets established and if he somehow comes out ahead as a good QB - well the Jets then have an embarrassment of riches at the position for a change.

We have a lot of issues as a team. Wilson settled in after a rough start and actually did ok given the circumstances. Our o-line, especially if bechton misses a lot of time concerns me way more than the qb

This should be scaring the shit out of all of us... Douglas supposedly concentrated on the OL and paid good money for a supposed "upgrade". Not sure if he got his money's worth on this but its early and there's a lot of work to do regarding the blocking schemes and such. One thing is certain, if Douglas doesn't fix this OL, Zach's career will be shorter than it should.

Meh, not sure who you sign that makes this look better. I though the play caking was too conservative and too predictable to start. If you can’t make the defense guess you’re not going to get them on their heels.

He actually outplayed most qbs by the second half. Theres a reason you put threads like these on the bench

The playcalling was run first and then pass off of the run. That's rookie QB 101. If anything the Jets threw too often and that's why Wilson took the beating he did today.

Agree that show Saleh made adjustments which Gase never did… that’s what I took from this game

Vilmas Post is my worst nightmare..the Kid was getting killed out there

I am really torn letting him play or getting a Vet in there but this CS must make that call ..

That said I feel Zach outplayed Darnold ...Reasons :he had a better second half , SD has about 30 more NFL games experience and a much better Team around him

Oh I did I forget to mention hes got C McCaffery??

Simply shoulda been intermediate and short passing. 1st half were too many long developing plays and the dline for Carolina was playing downhill. That's their strength and the jets played into it.

Glad they started him. The moment did not look too big for him and I think he performed very well considering they had zero running game to help him and more than a few drops from his WR's...

Gonna disagree here. He drafted Becton and AVT. He signed McGovern, Fant, and Moses.

Joe Douglas completely revamped the entire offensive line.
