I do think Griffith and Brown are temporary fixes till we get a few back from the IR list or a better option

Big problems now for those who will need to fit complete names on the jerseys.

Barring an unexpected trade, this is close to what our opening day roster well look like. And it's underwhelming.....

I like the direction the team is going, but this team is just not talented: especially on the defensive side of the ball. I think they will struggle to get to 5-6 wins.

I like Saleh and Wilson and hope this year is a springboard into a long era of success. But I think this is going to be a rough year on the scoreboard and in the standings.

    What are they fixing btw?

One can't stay healthy and the other can't catch or block.

I have to say my early optimism has waned somewhat, I never thought we would be challenging but I though 6 or 7 wins may have been possible but then again I hate those middle of the road seasons, all they do is blunten your next seasons draft potential lol and as we can see we are still way to far behind to not want as many high draft picks as possible in 22.

So I'm afraid it is another season of hoping we can play well enough to be in games but actually lose them, shameful I know but a top 10 pick is very much needed again.

How well has picking in the top 10 worked for the Jets over the last 10+?

Talent can be found all over the board, it’s up to the CS to make sure they develop and perform.

Brown is here for STs as he was our best ST player last year. Griffin I am not a fan of.

Normally I'd agree with you because on paper we look like a mess.

I'm willing to give it a chance to see what kind of effort the Jets get from Saleh a week from Sunday, I think he may surprise the hell out of us with what he can do with a weak roster.

Every time I hear a player speak, they are totally bought in. It's not some lame repeating of a mantra, if you look in their eyes they believe it.

That's going to mean something on Sunday, for however long it lasts. They were like that with Rex too in a lot of ways and that '09 team came out the gate wanting to kick the shit out of everyone. I'm hovering around 6 wins but I can see more if they hit the ground running.

Ah, that would explain that then, a lot of people have seemed to want him released for ages lol

Griffin came in and played fantastic, signed a longer deal and then got injured and stunk the joint out last season.

How well has picking up talent all over the board worked for the Jets?

    ;)

But Saleh and his team may well be the difference-maker, here's hoping.

I know when we resigned Brown it was right when we got Boyer resigned. It was speculated that Brown was brought back this spring for Boyer who drew some interest from other teams before joining Saleh's staff.

Well...it's a better roster than last year

Offense I think has a chance to be pretty good. They'll take a big step forward (I hope)

Defense looks like trash. It definitely will be bottom 5 in the league

    5 wins. Maybe 6

Yea I really dig the vibe around Saleh. I'm optimistic moving forward.

But this defense is a mess. We will most likely be at the very bottom of the league in most defensive categories.

Touché touché. At the end of the day, most players taken in the first round are extremely talented and the coaching needs to be on point.

8 is really tough. Everything would have to fall right for them in those one score games. Not impossible but I don't they get there.

As it turns out, being 2nd in waiver order on final cut day is about as exciting as being 32nd.

Jets fan should only ask for growth of our young players, especially Wilson. If someone thinks we're a 10ish win team, I want what they're smoking.

We will be picking top 10 again next year most likely

I agree it will be tough but even Gase won 7 games his first year and he sucks balls. I think they do it.
