Fant has 1 career catch dude. Yes. Fant can play as an extra O-Lineman but no, Fant can not play TE. 1 career catch? Where he made a fool out of himself after the catch? Tripped over and stumbled over his own feet and got laughed at on National Television becauseof it? 1 career catch? And you're saying he can play TE? NO. HE CAN'T.
For obvious reasons, this offense will not center around the TE, so you just have to call plays which compensate for not having a #1 at the position. Of course, when you get down inside the redzone and opponent's 10 yard line then the liability gets real.
Hey man--one of the 4th round picks went to Seattle with your boy. In the draft forum, there's a sticky that tracks the future picks.
He did it in Seattle. He can be the blocker. That's still playing TE since blocking is a big part of the TE position in our scheme. You really need to get over yourself. I thought you were going to stop posting here anyway.
LOL i was just about to ask if tebow has cleared waivers! It would be so 'jet-ish' to do something like that.
I think it's really hard for the average fan to realize just how lucky we were last draft and how even luckier we're going to be next draft. Multiple high draft picks in multiple rounds is crazy lucky. But after next year that all goes away. We'll join the ranks for those poor suckers who only get to draft one player per round, usually at the end of the round. THAT'S gonna suck! Think of a team that picked last in the last draft...the Bucs...the got one pick at the very end of the 1rst round...all the great QB prospects were long gone, tackles were gone, all the great WR, DB, Passrushers, all gone. Bucs one pick from the leftovers. And they wont get another crack until the end of the 2nd round when 64 top players are already spoken for. They they look up at the board and see NY Jets....NY Jets.....NY Jets.....NY Jets.... and it has to drive them nuts. Well that will be JD very soon waiting to the end of every round to make the pick that will change our team forever. Just crazy to think how super lucky we are with all the premium picks coming at us.
Yes but the Bucs won a SB something we haven't done since before I was born (85) back in 69. I'd gladly pick at the bottom if it means we got to celebrate a Super Bowl. But I 100% agree 2022's draft with 7 picks within the first 4 rounds is going to become super fun for us as a fan base and just imagine if we make the playoffs this year? Two 1st's? Two 2nd's? One 3rd? Two more 4th's? Instant contenders once building around Zach Wilson. And it gets even better. Top 5 A+ available salary cap space come 2022's Free Agency too. Joe Douglas is FULLY LOADED man.
Again though. The current coaching staff clearly didn't see much out of him, given his fall on the depth chart. It's nice to be hopeful as a fan, realistically though, he likely won't do much elsewhere either. If he was viewed as a potential playmaker for us, he wouldn't have gotten traded.
Kroft was pressed into starting a few times with the bengals. He's a solid if unspectacular starting TE. Amazing work by the Jets GM.
Pretty crazy seeing the treasure chest we are currently sitting on: 1st round pick 1st round pick (SEA) 2nd round pick 2nd round pick (CAR) 3rd round pick 4th round pick (CAR) 4th round pick (MIN) 5th round pick 5th round pick (PIT) 6th round pick TOP 3 in Cap space $$$
